Salary range for Quality Control Technician between $41000 to $52000 USD/year based on skills and expeirence
This position will include working out of Niagara Falls at our two plants there, as well as monthly travel to our facility in Rochester NY. Additionally, at a minimum, travel to other sites (Mechanicville NY, Brook IN, or others) is required for one working week every other month.
This position is in a MANUFACTURING FACILITY and you will be working in many different environments including clean and dusty areas, warm and colder temperatures, and anything in-between.
In this role, you can develop your full potential, sustainably, by applying your expertise within the Cascades Recovery + division of our team as the Quality Control Technician :
What you could be doing in this role:
Perform recycled fibre bale inspections according to established standard operating procedures and audit schedules
Perform verification and calibration of measuring devices
Operate high value drill and industry leading optical sensing probe
Data entry of probe results from audits into Cascades reporting software accurately and timely
Communicate audit schedules to operations and logistics management
Communicate non-conformance and low quality to supply teams
Conduct work in accordance with all established healthy and safety protocols, including wearing work boots, high visibility clothing, hard hats/bump caps, glasses, and ear plugs
Assist the development and implementation of quality control policies and procedures required for internal standards
Perform analysis of reports and audit data to identify trends and maintain understanding of quality levels of suppliers
Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with standards
Other related duties and responsibilities assigned by management

Must be fluent English, both written and verbal
Must have a full valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle
Must be able to travel in a car or on a plane within the USA and to Canada
Completed college level education in quality engineering, environmental technical studies, or similar
Ability to handle and operate high value equipment
Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to learn and/or apply quality concepts and quality processes, including statistical basics
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with managers, supervisors, and production floor employees
Attention to detail in data entry from auditing equipment to data management software
Experience in the recycling or paper industry is considered an asset, but not required
