Quality Control Technician

QUALITY CONTROL TECHNICIAN

As a quality control team member, you will be responsible for general duties assigned by your manager, key duties include but not limited to batching products, other duties within ingredient room/warehouse setting, QA Lab organizing, calibrating equipment, Microbiological room that includes plating samples, testing samples, swabbing different equipment, monitoring of water plant, weekly environmental monitoring, collecting samples of Strom water, packaging samples for customers, putting packaged samples at the receiving/shipping area, receiving bulk or non-bulk ingredients, bulks ingredients can include but not limited to Sucrose and/or CO2, taking inventory of ingredients as needed, organizing ingredients per FIFO, staging ingredients for batchers, moving ingredients back to designated areas, organizing the warehouse, organizing and placing HOLD ingredients, labeling and tagging expired ingredients, cleaning all QA related areas. Quality control member must be able to utilize our internal system M3, as well as proficient in MS Word and Excel. Must be a team player.

An opening exists for a Quality Control/Ingredient Room & Inventory control person.

Position requires the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without direct supervision.

  • High School Diploma, Associates degree in Food Science or related field, preferred.

  • Microbiology and HPLC knowledge preferred.

  • pH, TA, CO2, O2, and Brix testing.

  • Minimum of 2 years working in a lab environment preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience working in a food manufacturing environment with water, juice, carbonated beverage manufacturing preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize tasks.

  • Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and the ability to work a flexible schedule.

  • Knowledgeable of HACCP, GMP's, MSDS and other regulatory requirements.

  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

  • Forklift certified

  • Strong math skills

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ability to follow production schedule to prepare batch kits

  • Maintaining inventory levels and locations within warehouse, following FIFO of ingredients

  • Staging ingredients into correct bin locations

  • Breaking down ingredient pallets for batching use

  • Creating lot code barcodes for batch kits

  • Collecting and recording correct lot number information for batch tracking and recall purposes

  • Managing expired materials

  • Inspecting and counting raw ingredients for cycle counts; daily

  • Completing paperwork and recordkeeping in a timely manner

  • Task can be subject to change based on supervisor's direction

This person will not perform all duties of the quality control person. This is a special position seeking an individual with inventory and staging background. This person must be available for any shift. The person must be dependable and must have a good attendance record and work history.

Essential Job Duties * Complete dis-assembly of vehicle in order to assist Service Advisors in assessing damage to prepare a 100% Repair Plan * Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time * Plan work procedure: follow work order for all operations listed * Remove upholstery, accessories, electrical and hydraulic window and seat operating equipment and trim to gain access to damaged area of vehicle if needed. Store parts on carts or cover to eliminate potential damage * Mend damaged body by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts; ensure all gaps and fits are to industry standards; remove damaged fenders, panels and grills; and bolts or welds replacement parts in position and reassemble after parts are painted * Operate a variety of hand and power tools (e.g. welder, soldering equipment, cutting torch, blocks, hammers, wrenches, sander, spray guns, etc.) * File, grind, and sand repaired surfaces with 120-grit paper before turning vehicle over to the Paint Dept. * Repair or replace defective parts * Ensure all needed repairs identified to eliminate supplements and minimize repair time * Inspect and test drive repaired vehicles to check for compliance with safety and quality standards; Wash and prepare vehicles for customer return * Comply with all Caliber safety rules, guidelines and standards * Perform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc. Skill/Requirements * Must be at least 18 years of age * Ability to effectively communicate with others * Ability to read and understand instructions, written estimates and work orders * Multi-tasking; adapts easily to fast-paced environment * Personable, friendly demeanor with "World Class" customer service approach to internal and external customers * Maintain a well-groomed appearance Physical Requirements / Working Conditions Position is based in a normal shop environment. Occasional physical activity such as reaching below and above shoulder level, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping to inspect repairs, and lifting and carrying objects over 50lbs. Exposure to fumes, chemicals, dust, along with high levels of noise. Subject to weather conditions both inside and outside. Required to wear protective equipment when necessary.
