The Quality Control Technician - Aseptic provides quality and technical compliance for Aseptic Manufacturing and Packaging processes that drive significant improvement in overall equipment effectiveness and operational excellence. Partners closely with Operations, Quality, and Engineering on introduction and integration of new products and processes.


  • Takes immediate action when non-compliance is observed.

  • Partners with Production/Quality/Maintenance Leadership to make recommendations for enhancements to aseptic process.

  • Communicates openly to operators and supervisors in aseptic core regarding observed performance.

  • Provides immediate feedback when undesired behavior is observed.

  • Completes daily visual audits of all new and current Aseptic Filling Operators' aseptic behavior.

  • Completes daily inspections of the physical conditions of the aseptic core.

  • Maintains daily records in accordance with the FDA regulations.

  • Provides corrective action training based on visual audit by immediate feedback.

  • Expected to train personnel in Aseptic techniques and processes.

  • Provides support for various projects as assigned.

  • Complies with GMPs and FDA requirements as applicable in the facility.


  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions

  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records.

  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds.


  • BS in Microbiology or equivalent strongly preferred

  • Aseptic Processing experience strongly preferred

  • Experience in a food grade environment (FDA, GMP's, HACCP, SOP regulations) with high speed packaging equipment

  • Specialized Training preferred: Lean 6-Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent

The position of Quality Control Supervisor requires a very organized individual able to complete requests, activities, and projects on time and with a high level of quality and accuracy. This position is accountable and responsible for leading a team of quality control technicians, for the setting of appropriate standards, methods and specifications, and for the testing and disposition of in line and final product testing. ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Maintain a work environment committed to sustainable safety by enforcing safety rules, setting a safe example, coaching and communicating to department associates the reasons for safe operations. * Responsible for initiating appropriate actions that address Food Safety concerns, including escalation to Quality and Management. * Lead a team of QC technicians, establish clear job expectations and training requirements, and create career development opportunities * Setting of appropriate standards, methods and specifications for in line testing using scientific knowledge as well as production and QC supervisor inputs to define critical measurements * Identify and report on Key Performance Indicators that support the business * Lead and/or assist in root cause analysis activities * Perform Trace/Recall * Review of Batch Record * Continuous Improvement Activities * Create QC training and train QC technicians as appropriate * Must be available to assist off hours if required * Some travel may be required (<10%)</span> PHYSICAL DEMANDS * Must be able to physically perform the functions of: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, and hearing. * Must possess visual ability to document company records and be familiar with MSPEC sheets. * Must be able to lift 40 pounds. * Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and weekends QUALIFICATIONS * Supervisory experience required * Strong expertise in Quality Assurance and cGMP/GDP requirements * Must have strong organizational and leadership skills * Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional departments within the organization * Strong communication skills required – both verbal and written * Excellent problem solving skills and corrective action/resolution skills * Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Power Point. Preferred Qualifications: * Advanced academic degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or related field preferred. * Knowledge of chemistry, biotech and/or sterile manufacturing preferred * HACCP Certification from a nationally / internationally recognized and accredited HACCP training firm or currently in the process of obtaining preferred * Knowledge of FDA regulations preferred * SQF experience preferred * SysPro experience is a plus.
