ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Responsible for LIMS and lab software to meet functionality and organizational quality standards (including be not limited to EnviroMap, data transfers to LIMS from equipment, transfers from LIMS to ERP system etc.)

· LIMS Management and reporting

o Control Plan Adherence

o Sample group template adherence

o Developing and implementing frequency testing for testing schemes such as stability, raw material and conservation

· Ensure the Control Plans and Specifications including calculations are aligned throughout systems and manages gaps (Control Plans, Samples to Oracle)

· Responsible for Document Control of QC procedures including periodic reviews and updates – maintains schedule for conformity to organizational policies

· Develops and maintains controls charts for all Laboratory testing

· Responsible and leads Lab Equipment Reliability Program

· Performs investigations of equipment issues, documents findings, and makes recommendation for improvement activities, escalates issues to vendors to ensure services contacts are adhered to.

· Manages Lab equipment Service contracts

· Responsible for maintenance and metrics of stability testing program – including Business unit projects and standard requirements

· Develop effective quality systems, procedures and/or processes within cross functional teams to ensure efficiency throughout our quality systems

· Validates quality systems for mapping and data transfers

· Assists in CAPAs and investigation

· Interact with internal and external partners for development of best practices in our quality systems and procedures

· May provide assistance to staff with general tasks to provide better understanding of quality systems functions

· Prepares and developments KPIs metrics and reports on systems, connectivity, and reliability

· Installs, calibrates and tests new equipment with connectivity to LIMS

· Has a critical role in ensuring data integrity, quality and continuous improvement.

DEPUTY

· The deputies for this position are the Quality Manager (Primary) and Lab Superintendent (Secondary).

· This position serves as a deputy for the following positions: Lab Superintendent

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This role has direct reporting of personnel and staff

ENVIRONMENTAL, SAFETY, QUALITY, AND LEGAL REQUIREMENTS

Safety: All applicable OSHA Rules and Regulations

Quality: Quality Management System

Legal: all pertinent Human Resources, Environmental and Safety Laws and Regulations

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science, Microbiology or Chemistry required and minimum of 5 years in equivalent position preferably in LIMS management, laboratory systems and instrumentation. Working knowledge of laboratory practice and methods. Document Control experience required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Ability to be CPR/First Aid certified required
