Quality Control Specialist

Job Description

The Quality Control Specialist will work on a team responsible for ensuring operating deficiencies, errors and omissions, and system data entry related to customers, products, and transactions are identified, reported and corrected in connection with bank policy and practices, laws and regulations, and industry best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform account opening checkback for loan and deposit accounts

  • Complete reviews of data collected and entered, with comparison to source documentation as applicable, for accuracy and compliance with various policies and procedures, such as CIP, beneficial ownership, CRA, credit bureau reporting, etc.

  • Review data and information submitted to third-party loan process vendors to ensure completeness and accuracy

  • Report discrepancies and errors to the appropriate line of business and ensure corrections are made in a timely manner

  • Perform other reviews, audits and testing as directed

  • Maintain internal controls and meet regulatory compliance requirements

  • Assist with other projects as assigned


  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven experience working in a fast paced, high volume, customer-centric environment

  • Effective time management and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and ability to demonstrate critical thinking

  • Proficient in the use of technology including loan origination and core banking systems

  • Detail oriented and well organized

  • Ability to work both independently as self-starter and in a collaborative team environment

  • Motivated and open to change

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of banking or financial services industry experience required or Bachelor's or Associate's Degree with equivalent experience

Computer and Software Skills:

  • Proficient with using Microsoft Office products

  • Familiar with Google-based products (Gmail, Google Drive, etc.) preferred

  • Experience with Salesforce, nCino, or FIS Bankway is a plus
