Eaton's Global Energy Infrastructure Solutions (GEIS) division is currently seeking a Quality Control Specialist to join the team at our manufacturing facility in Syracuse, NY.

The Syracuse, NY site core competencies are iron & aluminum foundries, machining, plating, and assembly. The expected annual salary range for this role is $52494.0 - $76991.2 a year. Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

What you'll do:

This role will be responsible for electrically testing panels and wired enclosures within the assembly department. You will use your knowledge and expertise to train and instruct the workforce on standard procedures and best practices for wiring and assembly. You will frequently work with the operations and engineering teams on projects and requirements. Day to day activities include:

  • Test and troubleshoot various problems that occur during electrical tests; will require technician to think critically to solve complex problems.

  • Use ladder logic to read, write, and/or update basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to diagnose problems & identify solutions.

  • Support and train entry-level hourly assemblers and technicians through on-the-job training as needed.

  • Review diagrams, drawings, and specifications for design, construction and/or alteration of panels and enclosures. Ensure all are accurate and specifications are within industry standard.

  • Ensure compliance to ATEX standards; review work, specifications, and perform visual inspection of product as needed.

  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to make process improvements and improve production quality and standards.

  • Support the facility's electrical protocols and services as needed.

  • Keen focus on safety and compliance under company safety polices and guidelines.

What will make you successful?

The ideal candidate is a self-starter and motivator to their team, utilizing a strong communication skillset. These will be essential to deploying lean techniques and continuous improvement in a manufacturing and distribution environment, including leading Kaizens & use of basic lean tools such as standard work, TPM, VSM, 5S. This role will diagnose and resolve complex electrical/control problems, including non-routine issues. This includes utilizing data analytics to ensure compliance with test standards, along with timely and accurate follow-up reporting - recording data, writing reports and processing paperwork. We are looking for candidates who are diverse in their backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, and who can bring fresh and innovative ideas to our team.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Minimum three (3) years relevant experience in electrical testing, manufacturing or maintenance.

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in MS Windows/Office based systems.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Syracuse, NY will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree or equivalent certification in electrical engineering or similar field.

  • Three (3) years' experience in operations or engineering.
