New England Biolabs (NEB) is hiring a Quality Control Scientist to join the team in the QC Laboratory. The individual in this position will primarily oversee DNA modifying and restriction enzyme quality controls while complying with company quality standards and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities: Work with a cross functional team focused on DNA modifying and restriction enzyme testing and release. Optimize QC test methods and electronic lab notebook (ELN) templates.
Organizing, reporting, and trending test results Act as a liaison between Production and Quality Control staff across multiple sites. Draft quality documentation including SOPs, test methods, protocols, and reports. Initiate and participate in laboratory and out of specifications (OOS) investigations.
Maintain an up-to-date training file. QC subject matter expert: Department owner of activity and functional testing standard test methods (STMs); Lead efforts to transfer methods to QC Labs from internal or external collaborators; Perform Batch Release; Support audits in area of expertise; Support stability testing and shelf-life extensions; Support specification changes Required Qualifications and Experience:
B.S. degree in biology or related field Minimum 8 years' experience working in a QC lab setting. Advanced level of working knowledge of DNA Modifying and Restriction Enzymes Have a strong knowledge of ISO 13485 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Standards and/or GMP concepts. The ability to perform routine tasks accurately and follow strict methodologies.
Possess strong recordkeeping skills and the ability to analyze, interpret and report results to senior staff. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with others. Have a working knowledge of MS Office applications, Trackwise, SAP and ELN/LIMS systems.
