Overview

Walsh is currently seeking a Quality Control Manager for the Federal Building Division. The projects that the Quality Control Manager will be managing will be located in the Western half of the United States including California, Oklahoma, and Arizona.

The Quality Control Manager is responsible for managing and performing daily QC responsibilities to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with the established specifications and contract language.

Responsibilities

  • Direct oversight of QC Technicians and/or Independent Testing Firm personnel

  • Physical inspection of the site work

  • Review of all contract documentation and interprets blueprints and specifications to ensure compliance with specifications and other regulations governing construction

  • Contributes expertise to the work planning process, while aiding other in-house personnel (Project Managers, Superintendents, Engineers, etc.) and external personnel to produce and document a quality product

  • Coordinates testing laboratory technicians and interprets test results

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of Quality Control Management experience in the construction industry

  • Civil Engineering, Architectural, or Construction Management degree is required

  • Ability to enforce quality control, and ensure compliance with quality standards and contract requirements

  • Able to perform surveillance and inspection on multiple crews and subcontractors

  • Flexibility to provide QC services both on and off the jobsite and at various intervals of a project

  • Ability to relocate with some travel

  • Self-starter with good documentation skills

  • AIA/PE License strongly preferred

  • Experience managing quality control of an Airfield or Hanger Facility

Essential Functions, Roles and Responsibilities: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. * Receiving inspection of Branch Transfers and OEM product (assemblies, finished wellhead components, and spares) * Visual and dimensional inspection of wellhead and valve components * Processing Nonconformance Reports (NCR) at location * Assisting with Field Performance Report (FPR) investigations * Processing Engineering Change Notices (ECN) including inspecting inventory and processing NCR's * Perform in-process inspection for setout/staged equipment * Performing Final Inspection of all outgoing equipment * Completes branch quality documentation accurately and legibly * Verification of job packages for complete signoffs * Follow-up on FPR corrective actions to confirm implementation * Maintaining calibration of branch Measurement and Test Equipment * Performing routine inspection of Service Tools * Performing other related duties as assigned or requested Education, Training, Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); three or more years wellhead or valve manufacturing experience is preferred in quality control and/or machining, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: None Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Working knowledge of Quality Systems, Mechanical, Electronic and Hydraulic experience. Proficient in dimensional inspection of wellhead and valve components. Must understand, use and properly apply dimensional inspection equipment such as tape measures, scales, OD and ID micrometers, calipers, depth gages, thread inspection equipment of all types. Ability to read and interpret wellhead and valve component engineering drawings, Basic Computer Skills, Basic Language Skills, Strong Mathematical Skills and Basic Reasoning Ability.
