This role is based at our Pineville 2 Plant in Pineville, NC and will report to the Plant Manager.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Manager will be responsible for ensuring that manufactured products are tested according to established policies and procedures and conform to customer and third party certification requirements. The QC Manager will implement and lead local and corporate-level quality systems and supervise the quality team. Direct and coordinate quality activities directed at continuous improvement. Perform these activities while ensuring and enhancing safety, product quality, production output, housekeeping, and cost control to achieve plant goals.
Principal Responsibilities

  • Implement and lead the Quality Management System including internal audits, corrective/preventative actions, management reviews, and ISO documentation.
  • Complete daily shift transition protocol with QC personnel in order to facilitate shift-to-shift communication and exchange of information.
  • Ensure all dimensional and performance tests are conducted on manufactured products in compliance with the Corporate and Plant Quality Control Manuals and third party requirements.
  • Align with the Approved Compounds / Components List for raw materials through approval of Certificate of Authenticity documents and scheduled audits.
  • Participate in departmental continuous improvement projects.
  • Maintain records for testing results in compliance with ISO procedures.
  • Ensure the calibration of in-house instruments and gauges and maintenance of records through daily interaction and scheduled audits.
  • Ensure external calibrations are conducted per required procedures and frequencies and records are maintained.
  • Ensure quick decisions are made on any yellow-tagged product as related to quality specifications and report on the status of the yellow tags in daily production meetings.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with all certifying agencies and participate in the audits by outside agencies.
  • Report quality variances in the daily production meetings.
  • Evaluate and report findings as related to product complaints and completing the QC Evaluation Section in Infoflo.
  • Manage and periodically report status of plant and corporate quality objectives.
  • Ensure policies, procedures and work practices as outlined by the HR Best Practices USA, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and EH&S/ISMS are followed at all times.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or related field, or 10 years equivalent experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience is required.
  • Experience in an injection molding environment
  • A consistent track record in a continuous improvement manufacturing environment with ISO 9001.
  • Excellent leadership/management, written & verbal communication, problem solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • A solid understanding of computers using word processing, spreadsheets and outlook.
