Position Overview

This position is responsible for managing, inspecting, and performing Quality Control responsibilities for all projects and too assist the Project Superintendents in ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with the established Thompson Thrift Construction standards.

This position will be based out of our Indianapolis, IN or Terre Haute, IN office but will require weekly travel. Travel will be throughout United States to construction jobsites.

Qualifications, Skills and Competencies

Position requires high school education or equivalent certificate, Associates Degree preferred and/or multiple years of construction experience to demonstrate the mastery of position requirements.

Skills required: Advanced understanding of construction means and methods, exposure to construction drawings and specifications and basic computer skills.

Competencies required: Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects while continuing to meet project deadlines, exceptional problem-solving, analytical, organizational and time management skills. Be a team-player who flourishes in that environment, shows excellent verbal and written communication abilities and an ability to work with a variety of personnel in all positions.

Organizational Relationships

Position will report to Quality Control Manager. Quality Control Manager is based in Terre Haute, IN.

This position will assist with the training of new field employees with Quality Control Checklists and Thompson Thrift Construction standards and procedures.

Specific Position Duties

Perform field inspections to monitor compliance with project documents and company standards on a continual basis through-out the progress of the project.

Study project drawings and specification to determine intended construction methods.

Monitor and track project check-lists for completion.

Provide onsite assistance, support and training to field staff on company standards.

Assist with resolution of defective product installations by subcontractors or TTC own personnel.

Prepare observation report of each visitation on Procore.

Conduct one-on-one reviews of inspection results with Project Superintendent after each site visitation.

Mentor field staff.

Perform and repost trend analysis noted during duties.

Performing this job will sometimes require the employee to walk work sites that do not have infrastructure, this includes walking on uneven surfaces, through mud, through ruts, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Performing this job requires the use of hands to finer, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear (bells, whistles, etc.), stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
