The Quality Control Inspectorwill perform the material handling and warehousing functions required in the receiving, quality control, processing, storing, moving, packing, and shipping of parts, materials, equipment and supplies. Reports directly to the Manager of Quality and Traffic.


  • Review of inbound shipments, verify traceability and documentation received.
  • Post parts into Pentagon.
  • Perform material handling operations, for example, inventory, shipping/receiving, inspection, and tooling, to ensure inventory control and accuracy
  • Satisfy internal/external customer shipping deadlines
  • Administer vendor and carrier contracts to ensure provision of agreed upon service(s) and/or product(s)
  • Assist the team in resolving complex inventory discrepancies to determine root causes of inventory discrepancies and develop recommendations for corrective action
  • Maintain competent knowledge of all customer requirements.
  • Assist with processing drop shipment documentation
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Typically 2+ years of experience in warehouse, stockroom, and/or material handling
  • Minimum 1 year aviation industry experience in inspecting aircraft parts and paperwork
  • Computer skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, inventory management, and web-based applications
  • Planning and organizational skills necessary to prioritize, assign, and coordinate workload of assigned area and employees within a multiple project setting
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with a variety of individuals, departments, customers, vendors, and management
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to lift up to 45lbs
  • Speak, understand, and follow directions in English

VIEW JOBS 10/15/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-13T00:00 The Position This is technical, inspectional work in the administration of City buildings and related codes and ordinances covering building construction, alterations and repairs. Employee is responsible for the inspection of all buildings and building appurtenances in the City to determine adherence to required standards of construction, maintenance and safety. Work includes responsibility for interpretation of legal provisions governing building inspection. Employee functions independently in routine inspectional and enforcement activities and is under direct supervision of a supervising inspector. 1. Ensures compliance with the approved plans as well as City, State and Federal construction and safety standards and codes; Issues building permits. 2. Checks building plans submitted with applications for building permits to determine that such plans meet the requirements of the Building code; makes field inspections when necessary to clarify plans. 3. Inspects building sites and buildings in process of construction for conformance with city buildings and zoning requirements 4. Confers or corresponds with architects, building owners or contractors concerning questions involved in the checking of plans. 5. Makes recommendations for changes in the ordinances and regulations governing building inspections 6. Attends seminars and training courses to stay informed on new developments in the related field and to obtain current information of code changes. 7. Must effectively and positively represents the City in delivering and performing work with colleagues and clients, irrespective of gender, race, religion, age, disability, political affiliation or belief, or sexual orientation. 8. Must establish and maintain effective and professional relationships with work colleagues, supervisors and managers. 9. Performs related work as required for this position description only. The Requirements High School Diploma or GED equivalent; qualifications for Structural Inspector are as set forth in the Florida Building Code to be eligible for appointment as a Structural Inspector. Such person shall be certified by the State of Florida, Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) as a Structural Inspector. (Exception - Florida Registered Architects and Engineers are exempt from BCAIB certification only). Such person shall be certified by the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals and shall meet one or more of the following qualifications: * A Florida registered Architect or Structural Engineer having practiced for at least 3 years. * Or five (5) years construction experience in the Structural discipline in a supervisory capacity * Or a graduate from an accredited school holding a Bachelor or Associate of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Building Construction may be credited up to (3) years for a Bachelor or (1) year for an Associate Degree toward the required (5) years construction experience. Each applicant shall possess a current Certificate of Competency as a General Contractor (Unlimited) issued by: * Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board. * Broward County Central Examiners Board (as a Class "A" Unlimited General Contractor) or Dade County Construction Trades Qualifying Board Block Proctored issued on or after January 1, 1968. * A Florida Registered Architect or Professional Engineer Additional education and experience or an equivalent combination of training and experience may be substituted for the above requirements. NOTE: Applicants are encouraged to attach a copy of their current Building Inspector and General Contractor's license with their on-line application.
