Quality Control Inspector

Carpenter & Paterson, Inc. is currently hiring for a full-time Quality Control Inspector to work out of one of our offices in Waggaman, LA. The Quality Control Inspector works under the guidance of the Manager of Quality and Innovation in meeting the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) as outlined in the essential duties.

Essential Duties:

Inspect products and materials for defects or deviations from manufacturers' or industry specifications and standards.
Read and understand blue prints and specifications.
Monitor or observe operations and processes to ensure they meet established production standards.
Recommend adjustments to the process or assembly to ensure compliance.
Accept or reject finished items or those in process.
Remove and segregate all non-conforming products and materials that fail to meet specifications.
Discuss inspection results with those responsible for products.
Record the results of inspections and prepare reports. Document non-conformities.
Help in performing root cause analysis of production problems.

Days/Shift:

Monday thru Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm

Ideal Candidate:

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior production and/or quality experience in a manufacturing environment, welding environment preferred.
ASNT SNT-TC-1A Certification is a plus.
Must be observant and pay close attention to detail.
Takes a logical, methodical approach to work.
Experienced using measuring and inspection equipment such as calipers, micrometers.
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Basic computer skills in data management and proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
