SUMMARY: The Quality Clinical Analyst assist with the development, implementation, and monitoring of meaningful clinical process of care and outcome measurement systems to ensure quality care and regulatory compliance related to performance improvement activities hospital-wide.
The Quality Clinical Analyst supports data collection, analysis and reporting functions. The analyst must have the ability to present information in a concise and effective manner, and is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the clinical databases, including accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Coordinates and implements meaningful clinical process of care and outcome measurement systems in conjunction with business service lines and all LGH entities. 2.
Assists in the collection of data used in the compilation of the annual Performance Improvement and/or Infection Prevention Plan 3. Collects data and completes clinical summaries to assist with the physician peer review process 4. Assists in supporting and educating all stakeholders in the principles of continuous performance improvement process. 5.
Acts as a resource and/or facilitator for quality improvement projects. 6. Participates in sharing of best practices as quality subject matter experts upon request to external facilities (local, state and national). 7. Performs clinical abstraction and data entry from electronic medical records. 8.
Performs other auditing, data collection and other related duties as assigned. 9. Provides periodic updates to leadership to target areas for improvement. 10. Perform hypothesis testing and data mining.
Acts as a key user of performance measurement database and generates reports to support PI activities. 11. Participates in data validation process for clinical databases, registries and regulatory entities. 12.
Identifies and compiles data from multiple sources to produce and distribute comprehensive reports to support performance improvement, accreditation, liability prevention, care management and quality initiatives. 13.
Develops and maintains expertise in the databases assigned. Assists in the design, build, and maintenance of databases for efficient data entry as needed to support improvement projects and maximize clinical workflow. 14. Trains users as needed on performance measurement databases. 15.
Assists in the development and implementation of performance improvement projects requiring special data analysis 16. Measure changes and trends through the use of statistical tools. 17. Prepares reports and presentations for committees as requested. 18.
Presents results of quality initiatives to stakeholders. 19. Develops clinical reports and reporting schedules and meets information needs of clinical staff in a timely and accurate manner (dashboard/report card updating on routine basis). 20. Compiles ad hoc reports as requested. 21.
Prepares and deploys information for professional communication and education. 22. Works with departmental staff, physicians, and other hospital personnel to achieve program objectives and enhance clinical efficiency and effectiveness. Promotes teamwork and develops and deploys processes to capture the voice of internal and external customers. 23.
Maintains confidentiality of all interdepartmental correspondence as well as with external clients. 24.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: 1. Bachelor of Science in a healthcare related field with 3 years clinical work experience 2.
Intermediate skill with word processing, spreadsheets, tables, and presentations (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio) 3. Certification in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) and/or Infection Control (CIC) at hire. Obtain certification within 2 years if not present upon hire. 4.
Certification in Lean Six Sigma preferred upon hire. 5. Superior written and verbal communication skills 6. Ability to interact professionally and collegially with a variety of people, including physicians

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Medium work as defined by the U.S.
Department of Labor constitutes a maximum lift of 21 - 50 pounds on occasion and/or maximum lift of 11-25 pounds on a frequent basis The individual must be able to quickly maneuver throughout the halls, stairways, and patients' rooms in response to hospital emergencies. Interpretation of environment input requires visual and auditory skills. In the event there is a need to evacuate the building, heavy lifting will be required to carry patients to safety. The Quality Clinical Analysts spends 100% of his/her time in an air-conditioned or heated environment with varying exposures with exposures to excessive humidity or noise.
