Under broad supervision, responsible for conducting internal quality controls concerning particular areas or company products to insure they fulfill given quality procedures and norms. Monitors and records inconsistencies with quality procedures and norms. Prepares quality analyses and recommends necessary quality procedures changes. Records and analyzes customer claims. Prepares reports on rejected or defective products. Role typically requires between 3 and 5 years of experience. Tenn-Tex Plastics is located in the greater Greensboro area near the Farmer's Market.

Job Description:

Quality Control Inspectors are the last line of defense in the production process. They are a key component in ensuring that top quality parts for the kitchen cabinet industry are being produced in our plant. Their attention to detail ensures that each of our customers are receiving exactly what they are expecting in terms of quality and function. Inspectors routinely check behind the machine operators to ensure that quality standards are being met. When they find any discrepancies they bring it to the attention of Foreman and Plant Manager, so that the foreman may make adjustments to the molds, machines, or operators as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform start of shift walk through inspection

  • Daily and hourly part inspections

  • Utilize Calipers and Gauges to test parts for accuracy and function

  • Quarantine bad parts for plant manager's inspection

  • Fill out QC Logs and Quality deviation reports

  • Report bad part findings on the QC Whiteboard for the Foreman

  • Additional duties as requested

Expected Results:

  • Reduce the amount of raw material and machine time wasted producing bad parts

  • Reduce the amount of customer complaints due to bad product

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Calipers, gauges and blue prints

  • Familiar with Plastic manufacturing

  • Observant with a strong attention to detail

  • Self-starter that is able to work independently

  • Great people skills with the ability to work on a team
