Quality Assurance Tester

Position Description:

CGI is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Assurance Tester. As an insurance Quality Assurance Tester, the resource will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of our client software applications (mostly its web based, and client server based). The role involves writing test cases, reviewing test cases, executing test cases, conducting manual tests, identifying bugs and issues, and providing feedback to the development team and tech team of customer.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

• Analyze and understand software requirements

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans covering all functionalities

• Identify and report bugs and defects

• Collaborate with developers to resolve issues and improve software quality

• Provide feedback on usability and user experience

• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

• Write and maintain test documentation

• Create project estimates for time and budget

• Develop and execute manual test cases

• Write SQL queries to retrieve data for testing purposes

• Generate weekly status reports on testing progress.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

• 8-12 years of experience in QA or Manual Testing

• Strong SQL Server and MySQL query writing skills

• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and test scripts

• Proven ability to conduct functional, regression, and performance testing

• Expertise in identifying, documenting, and tracking bugs and issues

• Excellent collaboration skills to work effectively with development teams and resolve issues

• Ability to work independently on large, complex insurance application testing projects

• Strong analytical skills to review requirement documents from business analysts

• Experience creating project estimates for time and budget planning

• Ability to participate in the design and implementation of test automation frameworks (if applicable)

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail

• Experience writing clear and concise test plans for presentation to stakeholders

• Familiarity with test management tools like ALM (defect and test tracking)

• Ability to manually execute test cases and report on progress

• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $80,300 -$112,900.
