This is a hands-on position that provides direct support to the Quality Assurance Department and Commissary Management Team. This position is responsible for activities that pertain to ensuring plant wide compliance of food safety and quality standards. Duties will include monitoring and ensuring compliance of all QA functions as directed by the QA and Plant Manager. This position is an integral part of our QA team for our commissary located in Bridgeton, MO.
Assist in maintaining, overseeing and enforcing all quality assurance standards and programs to ensure compliance with company guidelines, local, state and federal regulations.
Responsible for overseeing QA functions/programs established by the QA Manager to ensure compliance, including, but not limited to: Bioterrorism Act; HACCP; HARPC; FSMA; QA Validation & Verification Steps; GMP's; SOP's; and SSOP's. Maintain record-keeping for all required compliance programs.
Food Safety Training: Responsible for training, developing and counseling associates and supervisors on all quality, food safety and sanitation standards, processes and programs.
Responsible for pre-operation and internal plant audits to ensure compliance of food safety and sanitation practices as established by the Plant Food Safety Plan and Master Cleaning Schedule.
Monitor Allergen, Pest Control and Chemical Control Programs.
Associates or higher degree in related Science field preferred.
Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience working in a food production environment.
Must have strong knowledge of Food Safety and Sanitation standards. Must be able to pass the Missouri ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification course.
Strong computer skills with the ability to learn new programs and processes.
Must possess good observation skills and be proficient in collecting and recording data with strong organizational skills.
Candidate must be able to work independently while monitoring food/QA processes.
Must have initiative to take corrective actions when needed and offer instructional direction to associates and supervisors.
Must possess excellent interpersonal customer relation skills.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule and work in all areas of the plant including refrigerated, frozen, hot and humid environments.
