CCL Label is a leader in the printing and packaging industry. The St. Charles, MO location is looking for a Quality Technician who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. Needs:

1 hire for 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday 2pm - midnight

OT Available, but not required.

THIS IS a PRINTING MANUFACTURING ENVIRONMENT position.

THIS IS NOT a degree-required position. There is no laboratory, nor is it a clean-room environment.

Job Purpose:

Position conducts oversight and verification of pre-production and all production processes, enforces good manufacturing practice (GMP) systems, validation processes, analyzes non-conformances and aids in closure, and provides reporting that assists the management team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Conduct job bag audits.

  • Sign-Ins: Ensure that items are made in accordance with product specification and GMP guidelines prior to manufacture.

  • Press Sheet Review: Review full sized printed press sheets for acceptable print quality and provide pass or fail based on quality standards.

  • Use of Electronic Comparitor programs: Used for reviewing layout to approved proof, and printed work against approved layout.

  • Pre-Production Review: Ensure that product specifications and layout are in agreement with the work order provided by the Technical Department and customer specification, if applicable.

  • In-Process Inspection: Ensure that product meets specification during manufacture by verifying that samples match tolerances.

  • Nonconformance Reporting: Issuing NCRs, and following them through to closure within the required 20 business days.

  • Perform incoming materials release to production.

  • Perform final release of product to shipping.

  • Aid in other tasks as assigned.

Competencies:

  • Will have the ability to "see the big picture" and to prioritize responsibilities.

  • Must have keen attention to detail. Attention to detail is crucial to this role.

  • Must be self-directed and independent, but able to work in a team environment.

  • Must possess a sense of urgency in response to production floor needs.

  • Must possess self-confidence and have the ability to communicate in a mature, responsible way with others.

  • Must be able to learn from mistakes and can take constructive critism.

  • Will not be afraid to ask questions and will be extremely cautious of making assumptions.

  • Ability to effectively present information.

Education and Experience:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications in Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Knowledge of GMPs desirable.

  • Quality experience in the print or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Experience with working in accordance with SOPs preferred

Physical Qualifications:

  • Stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms.

  • Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and peripheral vision.

  • The ability to see, hear, read and follow verbal directives in English.

Be willing and able to work overtime, Saturdays, and Sundays at need, to support production needs.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and print chemicals involved in a printing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is at a moderate level.

Salary: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
