Quality Assurance Supervisor 2nd Shift

What will you do?
Supervise, delegate tasks, schedule, and direct a team of QC lab technicians and Microbiologists.
Maintain all QC records and documents.
Maintain, implement, and verify Food Safety and Food Quality systems for the company.
Support SQF program through implementation and maintenance of SOPs, record keeping and training.
Uphold laws and regulations mandated by FSMA.
Evaluate in-process batches of product based on adherence to formulation specifications and sensory analysis.
Provide corrections on non-conforming in-process batches.
Evaluate and monitor product emulsions throughout the runs and direct adjustments necessary to ensure quality viscosities.
Perform monthly internal plant self-audits.
Review and verify control points, quality points, critical control points, and critical quality points.
Responsible for tracking, isolating, identifying, and dispositioning non-conforming product.
Review Microbiological test results for product release.
Investigate customer complaints.
Inventory lab supplies monthly.
Maintain and track internal formula specifications.
Implement and enforce GMPs.
Control ingredient loss through product testing and weight control.
Utilize Redzone software to implement, track, and control quality points.
Complete and conduct evaluations of technicians.
Review CCP, QCP, and Preventative Controls.
Maintain lab equipment, calibrations and troubleshoot as needed.
Perform key functions in PeopleSoft as related to quality functions and reports.
Examine and make dispositions on customer returns.
Responsible for special projects delegated by the Director of Quality and Food Safety.
Responsible for overseeing new product formulation test runs from weighing of batches to packing of product.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
4-year degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, or Biochemistry
Previous management and/or supervisory experience.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Lean experience helpful.
Excellent organizational/time management skills.
Able to effectively interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work for long periods of time, under pressure, to produce results.
Ability to operate a computer in a Windows-based environment and most office equipment.
Strong attention to detail.
Results oriented.
Demonstrate ambiguity to change
Must be able to see/distinguish color.
