Position Overview:

Solid Power is seeking a skilled associate to join our talented team working to revolutionize the battery industry through the development of next generation materials and production of all solid-state rechargeable batteries. The preferred candidate will have hands-on experience in Quality systems deployment and driving a high-quality culture across the organization with data and development of systems, processes, and people. A strong background in compliance auditing, problem solving, Quality Management Systems, and SAP is a plus. This position is critical to ensuring Solid Power products are delivered to the market with the highest quality. The QA Specialist possesses a strong knowledge of both ISO 9001 and IATF 16949.

Job Duties:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more of the quality systems used within the business unit. Responsible for implementation and deployment of internal systems/processes necessary to meet certification, regulatory and/or customer requirements.

  • Communicate effectively with R&D, production, maintenance, warehouse, and other functions to enable process and/or product optimization, problem prevention, ensure Quality systems are performing optimally, and identify and apply best practices across multiple sites.

  • Develops / reviews and revises metrics / measurements that monitor key quality control points to assure alignment among production capabilities, laboratory method capabilities, and customer needs.

  • Possess a high comfort level in leading and implementing organizational change and identifies deviations from accepted practice.

  • Assist in compliance and customer audits in addition to leading internal audits.

  • Write, revise and review work instructions, training tools, and forms.

  • Ensure EHS compliance and a strong safety culture exists and is demonstrated within the department. Ensure training compliance for yourself.

  • Utilize problem solving and 6 sigma skills, lead and implement process improvements, 5S. Provide statistical information for quality improvement.

  • All additional responsibilities as directed and required by quality/regulatory management.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) or commensurate work experience in chemical or battery manufacturing. A bachelor's degree in engineering or science is preferred.

  • Ability to understand both business and manufacturing processes to identify needs and opportunities for improvement.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of management both internally and externally.

Preferred Experience:

  • Implementing Quality Management Systems (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO9001), expertise in automotive standards. CQE / CQM a plus.

  • SAP S4 Hana Quality Management software implementation and other relevant Quality software tool experience (SharePoint, PowerBI, PowerApps, etc.).

  • Six Sigma Green Belt, or higher, certification preferred.

Physical Requirements (with or without accommodation):

  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.

  • Occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.

  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as necessary including, but not limited to eye protection, hair net, gloves, face mask, coveralls, full-face respirator or PAPR.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000 annually
