About the Position:

CERDEC's Product Realization Systems Engineering and Quality Directorate applies engineering and technical skills across the product lifecycle to reduce risk and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of products, systems and operations for the Army. PRD's knowledge, skills and abilities enable product realization of systems and technologies used by Soldiers to fulfill complex mission requirements.

  • Serves as a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist responsible for accomplishing CERDEC Product Realization Systems Engineering and Quality Directorate (PRD) quality assurance.

  • Have oversight of contractor-performed research, development, production and maintenance of products, systems, equipment, initiatives and programs.

  • Successfully supports quality assurance of numerous Team C4ISR, CERDEC, CECOM, Department of the Army and intra-service production and Research and Development programs.

  • Establishes Quality Assurance parameters for assigned programs.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management on military production, testing and maintenance procedures.

  • Interprets and reviews emerging quality and product availability assurance developments, tools, implementations, guidance, best practices, laws, regulations and policies.

  • Reviews contractor proposals to performs both pre and post award quality assessments evaluating.

  • Proactively assists management/engineering personnel by providing advice and assistance, reviews and evaluates procedures, performs product inspection and monitors test controls.

  • Fulfill the requirements outlined in the Statement of Work and make recommendations to ensure contractual requirements are adequate to meet requirements.

Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel 25% or more for this position.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

  • This is an Army Acquisition, Technology and Logistics Workforce position. Certification at Level 3 in Acquisition Career Field Production, Quality and Manufacturing (PQM) within 24 months of entrance on duty.

  • Position requires 25% or more temporary business travel and sometimes on short notice.

  • Position #1 Requires a requires a Secret security clearance.

  • Position #2 requires a Top Secret clearance and is subject to random drug testing.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: 1) quality assurance experience in acquisition lifecycle management; 2) provide contract management services in a quality assurance environment (example: pre/post contract proposal, SOW etc.); and 3) interprets quality assurance policies/regulations to provide guidance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service DE-02 (GS-11).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
