  • Reviews contracts and technical data packages to identify the specification requirements which the contractor's processes must meet.

  • Establishes and maintains communications with contractor's top management to ensure understanding exists for acceptable quality evidence for purchased materials, vendor controls, shipment, key process measurement and analysis.

  • Designs, plans and implements an effective risk management program to ensure that all threats to the successful delivery of the contract are addressed and mitigated in the Government's best interests.

  • Performs risk assessments and analysis, relying on relevant customer, supplier performance, and Government data, and assigns risk ratings to quality systems and key processes.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Business Travel required 5% of the time.

QUALIFICATIONS: In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

Experience required: To qualify based on your work experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

To qualify, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level GS-09 . Specialized experience is defined as: Independent performance of Quality Assurance principles used to audit, inspect and accept specialized and unique processes used in manufacturing and testing electronics assemblies. Experience evaluating and inspecting production methods, processes and testing techniques being performed by contractors. Experience performing quality data analysis and evaluation. Experience performing process reviews and product examinations.

Education can be substituted for experience.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

  • Oral Communication

  • Quality Assurance

  • Risk Assessment

You are responsible for * Under limited supervision, this position will perform a variety of visual and dimensional inspection of machined, plastic and sheet metal parts including flat pattern design, fixtures, gages and completed assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances and workmanship standards. Validation and Verification of inspection equipment, methods and CMM programming. The quality assurance technician will also maintain existing inspection plans and create new inspection plans to support the inspection planning and receiving inspection processes. * The candidate must be proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments to include (but not limited to): * Calipers * Micrometers * Depth gauges * Height gauges * Indicators * Thread gauges * Comparator To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience Position Requirements: * Must be able to read and interpret Blue Prints and Technical Specifications * Must be able to inspect parts involving numerous precision tolerance dimensions, coordinated dimensions, irregular surfaces and contours, which must be inspected by precision measuring instruments from surface plate set-ups where no inspection jigs or fixtures are available. * Must be able to create programs on CMM * Must have experience with drafting validation and verification protocols, executing and drafting reports * Must have oral communication skills, demonstrate teamwork, be adaptable, have the ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently. * Knowledge and understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. * Knowledge and understanding of Measurement System Analysis, Test Method Validation and GR&R * Must have oral communication skills, demonstrate teamwork, be adaptable, have the ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently. * Requires fine manipulation and simple grasping to utilize a computer and handheld inspection equipment. * Responsible for performing first article inspections and Engineering evaluation reports on items of moderate difficulty. * Frequent sitting and standing. * Perform root cause/ corrective actions * Work in a regulated environment with strict adherence to policies and procedures * May assist with Supplier Quality Engineering and Quality Engineering to resolve quality related problems with/at suppliers. * Experience: * Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Quality as an Electro-Mechanical or Dimensional Inspector * Must have CMM programming experience * Must have a minimum of 3+ years writing and executing validation/verification documentation * Vision System Experience is a plus * Experience working in a Medical Device Industry or other regulated industry is a plus * Limited travel (0-10%) * Educational Requirements: * AA.
