Ensure contractor compliance with all requirements related to the design, manufacturing, repair, overhaul, and modernization of a variety of items for contractor and customer activities throughout the world.
Independently applies a wide range of methods, principles, and practices related to the quality control/assurance fields such as statistical analysis, control and sampling, and quality data analysis and evaluation to determine contractor compliance.
Incorporates a thorough and detailed QA knowledge in applying various methods and techniques for investigating, analyzing, and ensuring corrective action on complex quality problems.
Develop and implement a surveillance plan which begins with clear objectives supported by a master schedule that includes identification of contractor and sub-contractor production needs.
Independently perform audits/surveillance of contractor?s processes to ensure customer and contractual requirements are met.

This position must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Yankee White Clearance with OSD approval of Presidential Support Program duties.
To qualify for a Quality Assurance Specialist (Aircraft), your resume and supporting documentation must support:
A. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Ability to evaluate aircraft quality assurance concepts, principles, methods, and practices.
Ability to evaluate contractor's compliance to contract requirements for aircraft; including conducting audits, risk assessments, and/or technical studies.
Provide risk based surveillance of supplier's quality systems and processes from contract award to completion; inspecting and testing mechanical parts, components, and subassemblies.
Perform risk assessments and assigning risk ratings to quality systems and key processes; and perform audits.
Apply mechanical quality assurance concepts, principles, methods and practices in: planning, developing, and implementing risk management strategies.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
