The Quality Assurance Scientist II identifies and resolves quality issues with current manufacturing products and may serve as the primary quality representative on new product transfer teams for capillary electrophoresis consumables.
Reviews and approves change orders, validations, non-conformances, design changes, out of specification (OOS), and other product quality documents.
Ensures design/product meets specifications and fulfills its intended purpose.
Collaborates with other functional groups, including Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, and Development/Engineering.
Ensures company, industry, and regulatory standards are met, e.g. ISO 9001, Quality Policies and SOPs of Sciex.
Applies research and scientific principles to the planning, design, development, documentation, and testing/debugging of a variety of chemical reactions. Defines approaches to implementation and operation.
Serves as QA team member on multi-department projects for process improvement and new products as required.
Leads and facilitates FMEA and other risk control processes.
Reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures.
Other duties may include training, external audit support, batch record review, productivity and quality improvements through leading kaizens.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or similar scientific field with 2+ years exp. OR
Master's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or similar scientific field with 0-2+ years exp.
Experience in quality assurance preferred
Experience with collaborative cross-functional teams desirable
Strong understanding of ISO 9001, GDP, and GMP for Life Science consumables industry.
Good understanding of risk management, FMEA, validation, and design controls.
Good understanding of manufacturing product quality assurance. CQE strongly preferred.
Experience with capillary electrophoresis and/or mass spectroscopy preferred.
Good understanding of basic laboratory techniques.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills
