The Quality Assurance Engineer works as part of the project team to release products that have been quality approved, are usable, and meet or exceed customer expectations. Is responsible for promoting quality standards, methods and practices; this includes providing input to quality planning, test case and test script creation and management, providing input for evaluations of scalable quality processes and procedures relating to the development of Web-based solutions. Able to create & maintain automated testing scripts/suites leveraging either Java-based Selenium WebDriver, or JavaScripting-based Cypress.io.

What you do:

SQA Methodologies, Practices and Processes

Works with QA Director/QA Lead in project scoping and estimating project work by providing assessment of efforts needed to successfully execute a quality process

  • Works with QA Director/QA Lead to establish and develop strategy, approach and planning on account projects; executes the strategy

  • Participates in requirements and use case reviews, code walk-throughs and internal design reviews to assure artifacts and deliverables meet requirements and are within defined scope

  • Reviews requirements for clarity and testability; assure consistency with defined scope

  • Maintains integrity of test repository including automated scripts/suites.

Risk Identification, Assessment and Mitigation

  • Meets regularly with QA Director/QA Lead to identify and assess project risks and identify mitigation strategies; executes the strategies

  • Completes thorough analysis of relevant project artifacts for clarity and testability; assure consistency with defined scope

  • Prioritizes testing activities and based on risk analysis

  • Maintains defect tracking tool and generate defect status reports

  • Assist QA Director/QA Lead and Quality Assurance Manager in defining improvement processes and procedures

  • Collaborates with other project team leads to develop and implement project risk mitigation strategies

  • Reviews defect reports for completeness; identifies and communicates possible trends and patterns

  • Creates and maintains test plans and test scripts

Oral and Written Communication

  • Regularly attends and participates in account, project, and practice team meetings

  • Sets up QA Strategy/Test Plans and other artifacts as needed

  • Schedules and leads project defect meetings

  • Develops training materials, sales collateral and white papers

  • Educates organization about QA standards, best practices and emerging trends

Client Relationship Management

  • Collaborates successfully with client QA Team, as necessary

  • Communicates test results to client team, as necessary

What you need:

  • Experience using Selenium WebDriver and/or ability to write Java-based scripts for test automation

  • 2+ years Web-based quality assurance experience; test management and evaluation

  • Proven ability to adhere to QA methodologies, standards and software testing practices in development and implementation to ensure compliance with business requirements

  • Demonstrated leadership ability, including strong interpersonal and teamwork skills

  • Understanding of and experience with Web technologies, including Content Management Systems.

  • Marketing, Advertising, or Sales experience a plus

  • Proofreading skills a plus

  • BA/BS or advanced degree a plus

This position is currently a temporary need. We anticipate work for this role to go through the end of the year and possibly beyond that time frame.

VIEW JOBS 11/13/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-02-11T00:00 Position Summary This position is responsible for leading Quality Assurance and Quality Engineering activities throughout the Software Development Lifecycle for new product development initiatives. This includes ensuring that the software development process is compliant with applicable standards, regulations and guidance documents for medical devices. This role will interface with other Insulet departments (e.g. Operations, and Information Technology, R & D, Testing, New Business Development and Regulatory Affairs) as well as other external parties on issues related to product development, and launched product support. The ability to effectively communicate software and design and development regulations, optimize the development process, and ensure ambiguities and conflicting requirements are resolved are critical to the success of the position. Responsibilities * Support Design Control and Software Development initiatives to develop appropriate Design History File documents for FDA Class II medical devices, mobile applications, and cloud-based systems. * Ensures compliance to IEC 62304, and FDA Guidance on Software Contained in a 510(k) Submission. * Support efforts for cybersecurity risk management for both US and Rest of World (ROW) requirements. * Provide guidance for the generation, review and approval of design control documentation with primary focus on software development deliverables. * Serve as the Design Control expert to software development organization. * Support development teams on the validation of software tools. * Lead creation of necessary documentation to comply with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. * Support Risk Management Activities for device systems in compliance with ISO14971 and software risk requirements in IEC 62304. * Review requirements, specifications, product design documents, validation protocols, test plans, test cases, and other documentation as required and provide timely feedback. * Applies a good working knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (IEC 62304), Design Controls (ISO 13485) and other regulatory requirements and agencies as it relates to Design Quality Assurance activities in software development. Education and Experience Education and Experience: * ASQ, CSQE or other software quality certificates are beneficial. * BS degree, in an engineering/scientific/computer systems or quality management curriculum or equivalent experience. * Experience with medical device software development. * Experience with a risk-based approach to validate Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) software and non-product Software Tools. * Experience with software mobile applications, cloud based systems, and cybersecurity. * A minimum of 5 years work experience in Software Quality Engineering within an FDA, ISO or other regulated environment and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Experience working with multi-site global development teams preferred. * Working knowledge of the Quality System Regulation (FDA 21 CFR Part 820) and ISO 13485 quality system standards. * Working knowledge of IEC 62304, ISO 14971, IEC 62366, and FDA guidance documents on software development, cybersecurity, and submission requirements for 510(k). * Familiarity with various software development tools (e.g. configuration management, issue/defect tracking, requirements analysis, etc.).
