JOB OVERVIEW

The Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for delivering "clean" digital projects, writing impeccable test plans and bug tickets, setting and guiding the launch plan for a project alongside Integrated Production, and maintaining communication with all members of the production team throughout the process. An Analyst will also act as a departmental or brand "lead" taking ownership of assigned QA projects from inception to delivery. They are expected to come to meetings prepared to guide the project throughout all areas of its production and will ensure each specific Technology-adjacent group performs their quality checks at all stages of the lifecycle. They are to perform thorough Quality Assurance of digital work with an eye for functionality and compatibility, with the ability to multi-task, instruct co-workers, attend meetings with external clients/vendors as required to ensure clients' needs are met, and to successfully deliver all assigned projects on time and budget.

An Analyst understands all facets of testing, the creative process, and should have experience within the world of advertising. They should possess at least 3 years of experience performing quality assurance (on websites, web/mobile apps, banner ads, emails, games, etc) and have a strong understanding of User Experience. Bug tickets recorded must be written from a technical point of view and may include suggestions for fixes or work arounds. The mid-level analyst should have experience with and be open to writing reusable test scripts (via Selenium, Watir, WebDriver/etc) to facilitate in testing, and be able to share these with the team. They must have a sharp eye and be skilled at locating repeatable bugs. Bug tickets recorded must be written from a technical point of view and include suggestions for fixes or work arounds.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Quality Assurance

  • Establishes and assures cross-network adherence to departmental SOPs with regard to manual, automated, UAT, regression, performance, and production Quality Assurance testing

Software Testing

  • Website and Application Testing; e-mails and banners.

Project Management

  • Quality Assurance Methodologies process; timelines

Test Plans

  • Creates documentation to identify what is being planned for testing.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform requirements analysis, including all phases and stages of software testing.

  • Takes ownership of assigned QA projects from inception through delivery

  • Execute effective plans for quality control, review, and audits.

  • Contribute to the design and validate functionality of design concepts.

  • Track and maintain defect entry and workflow within defect tracker.

  • Ensure site optimization, functional, visual, and cross browser validation.

  • Work closely with project managers and developers to ensure quality and on-time completion of projects.

  • Maintains an active and ongoing knowledge of emerging technologies as well as how to test for them in an ever-evolving tech landscape

  • Familiarity with User Experience recommendations and SEO

  • Works with and ensures each specific Technology-adjacent group performs their quality checks at all stages of the project lifecycle

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Must be competent with all major Internet browsers, able to use both Mac & PC, understand browser plugs-ins (Java, Flash, etc.), familiar with tablet devices (Android, iPad) and smartphones

  • Exceptional knowledge of software development lifecycle and how it intersects test practices and quality assurance, must also develop and track metrics for quality assurance
