You'll be part of our Technology Platforms team and ensure that applications used by our teams and customers alike are modern, powerful, and deliver on our promise of a WOW! experience for both our team and customers. You'll be a significant contributor in the Tech-platform QA team , delivering quality products by thorough testing and follow QA best practices and standards.

What you'll do:

Our Technology Platforms team works proactively to solve challenges associated with a growing, high-volume, customer-driven ecommerce and retail business. In this role, you'll develop and execute test strategies for ecommerce related programs. You'll work independently, while also collaborating with our Project Managers, Engineers, and QA Manager to help develop, execute manual and automated test cases based on a published set of technical requirements.

You'll engage in test preparation like test case writing, identifying edge cases, incorporate updates to documents to stay current, while adhering to QA best practices in test case writing, execution and defect logging/tracking and other documentation processes. You'll also serve as a point of contact for production tickets, conduct research, triage appropriately and follow up until closure of an issue.

  • You demonstrate ownership of solutions delivered by troubleshooting issues and provide support to Engineering team proactively as well as reactively

What we're looking for:

  • Track record of delivering high quality products/systems

  • 5+ years of experience with overall manual QA/manual testing

  • 1+ year of writing/execution of automated test script is a must

  • Experience in testing Web based applications

  • Ability to perform requirements analysis and create meaningful test cases, automated scripts

  • Testing main and alternate flows, complex business rules, database checks using SQL queries, cross browser and testing experience with mobile devices

  • Test case writing, defect logging/tracking and problem solving skills

  • Must have worked in Agile setups and have participated in Sprint Planning, Story grooming and Stand-Up sessions

  • Experience with software version control such as GIT and /or SVN

  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Zendesk and TestRail is a plus

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the most popular CRM software used by clients on Capitol Hill, in governors offices, state and local governments and by various federal agencies, Intranet Quorum (IQ). The top candidate will bring together varied software experiences including training, consultation, testing, configuration management and documentation. As a member of the Quality Assurance team, you will perform software testing and documentation, partnering with the software development team as part of the software release process. The QA Analyst collaborates with other teams within the DSI program as well, including customer support, training, IT consulting, marketing and product development. The Leidos DSI Program Quality Assurance mission is one that encourages team members to explore their unique strengths and use them to help improve our Intranet Quorum (IQ) software product at all phases in the software development lifecycle as well as other processes in our program. Primary Responsibilities: In this position, the individual will perform various activities to ensure and enhance quality in our IQ software product as well as related services. The main tasks and responsibilities include: Troubleshooting to confirm and reproduce reported software defects and identify workarounds. Testing newly coded software changes including bug fixes and enhancements. Working with the team to ensure meeting software release deadlines. Collaborating and communicating with teammates and software developers throughout the testing process. Documenting new features for release notes and help files. Providing consultation when updates for eLearning and training materials may be needed. There are additional opportunities for program process improvement and special documentation assignments in this role as program needs arise. Typically requires BS degree and 2 - 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience. Basic Qualifications: The successful candidate is a constant and self-motivated learner of new technologies and applies new concepts when testing, troubleshooting, and providing creative problem-solving for the software development lifecycle. This individual is able to analyze, research and solve complex problems independently and will also seek collaboration with fellow team members when needed to meet deadlines and test in a timely manner. He or she applies focus on proactive communication and documentation of features and testing results. The necessary skills include: Excellent analytical and organizational skills for test planning, requirements tracking, change management and documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting test cases, help files and communicating with technical or non-technical staff. Methodical, consistent and persistent in testing and documenting progress. Attention to detail with natural curiosity, thinking outside-the-box to capture obscure issues or identify user experience problems. Ability to take initiative and be proactive with development and product teams. Flexible and creative in problem-solving and suggesting work-arounds. Project management or leadership skills in combination with at least one year of training, customer support or software consulting experience. Aptitude for learning new programming languages Prior knowledge of the Intranet Quorum (IQ) software is a differentiator. Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Experience training, supporting or consulting with the Intranet Quorum (IQ) software.
