Vanir CM has a unique opportunity for a talented individual to assist in the continued strategic growth of our organization. The position of Quality Assurance Manager, located in Seattle, WA will work collaboratively with internal and external clients to deliver quality assurance/verification on design-build projects. The Quality Assurance Manager will be instrumental in reviewing, revising, and developing the Quality Assurance/Verification Program to ensure the project is compliant with the contract, the design-build documents and procedures, and quality processes and results are clearly documented. As a Vanir employee, you will be a vital member solving complex QA/QC issues with a maintained focus on customer satisfaction. This job is on site and will require interaction with the client, consultants, contractors, designers and regulatory agencies. The project scope is in the transportation sector.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop and implement a Project Quality Management Plan (QMP) consistent with owner requirements.
Conduct a quality project risk analysis and incorporate into the QMP.
Develop presentations and training materials based on the QMP and train inspection staff.
Review contractor's quality management plan (CQMP) for consistence with the owner's requirements and the QMP.
Independent monitor, evaluate and verify quality performance, products, execution, results and documentation.
Monitor of contractors work and conducts assessment of specific procedural activities performed by the design-build contractors quality control team.
Monitor submittal approval status prior to beginning of work.
Monitor and evaluate material/product identification, inspection, documentation and traceability process.
Monitor and evaluate contractor's inspection and testing process and associated documentation.
Monitor and evaluate correct and timely processing of non-conformance issues, reports, preventative and corrective actions.
Direct independent inspection activities, testing and verification.
Attend construction progress meetings, quality meetings, and construction readiness review meetings.
Provide Independent quality assurance/verification reports.
Provide document editing services that include spelling, grammar, consistency, and format for various reports prior to final review and delivery by the Project Manager.
10 years of prior experience as a construction quality manager or QC Supervisor
Previous experience on large projects 50M or above
Previous experience on design-build project
Degree in engineering, architecture or construction management required.
ICC Building Code Inspector Certification required. Demonstrated working knowledge of local, state and national codes. Knowledge of industrial and OSHA work place requirements.
Design Build of America (DBIA) credential preferred.
Experience with vertical construction required.
Writing and developing materials for multiple stakeholders/subject matter experts in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with risk assessment processes.
Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint)
Ability to collaborate with owner, contractor and local jurisdictions a must.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, Visio, SharePoint, and Excel; ability to create workflows in Visio is essential.
Familiarity with various editorial and style guides is preferred.
Design quality assurance is a plus, but not required.
