Plant ManagerPURPOSE OF POSITIONIn accordance with Division policies, drive the creation, deployment and continuous improvement of robust Quality Systems supporting the needs of our Customers. Working with Plant Operations, design, develop and deploy suitable process controls ensuring product conformance to all defined standards by focusing on prevention of occurrence whenever possible, when not possible a minimum of enhanced occurrence detection is required. When abnormalities do occur, coach detailed Problem Solving of root cause analysis and corrective action both internally as well as with our supplier partners.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
Coach from the perspective of Prevention first, then Detection.
Create and maintain measures of plant's quality performance in terms of quality costs, customer returns and complaints, product conformance and manufacturing and supplier performance.
Together with the plant manager and division quality assurance manager, establishes quality performance goals. Reports and acts when performance does not meet goals.
Defines the system, policy and procedures for the assurance of quality for both purchased and manufactured items, regularly monitors and coach's adherence to all procedures by all functions.
Conduct audits and report findings of plant quality systems including adequacy of records, effectiveness of procedures and performance of personnel, utilize these findings to drive Continuous Improvement of all Quality systems.
Provide for the development of product quality and reliability standards and the determination of required tests and test procedures. Maintains records and provides feedback of pertinent information both internally and with external suppliers.
Ownership of the site MRB process, drives evaluation of suspect materials through Testing and Inspection for conformance to requirements of all purchased material, work in process, finished goods, packaging and labeling; Determining disposition in an expedient manner, tracks all costs of non-conforming material.
Support the sites defined calendar of formal Kaizen events focused on improved process design, driving best practices for in process prevention techniques as well as enhanced methods for defect detection.
Coach and Teach formal problem solving utilizing 5 Why and 8D methodology for all major non-conformances.
Management Representative for ISO9001:2000 Quality Management Systems. Develop and maintain work instructions per ISO requirements.
Collaborate and Coach Value Stream Engineers on Standard Work Development, review and sign off on all Standard Work ensuring Critical to Quality characteristics are well defined and the means of measuring compliance are provided for in the process design.
Coach the ongoing use of APQP tools such as the PFMEA, driving Control Plans to be embedded in our Production Processes. Reinforce the need for both internal and external PPAP
Conduct ongoing formal Layered Audits of Standard Work compliance & Process Set-up guide compliance. Conduct Quarterly audits of task-based training compliance.
Quality Assurance ManagerEducation Required: Bachelor's degree in engineering, and/or equivalent quality engineering experience in manufacturing.
Work Experience Required: 10+ years of experience in a Quality role in manufacturing with progressive levels of responsibility.

Prior experience with ISO9001 or equivalent required.
Demonstrated knowledge of DFMEA/PFMEA, Control Plans and PPAP tools.
Demonstrated knowledge of basic statistical quality tools (SPC, capability studies, histograms, R&R, root cause analysis, corrective action process).
Executes with the highest degree of integrity and accountability
Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the business beginning with the shop floor and ending with senior management
Hands on, self-motivated individual who strives for excellence and continuous improvement using analytical problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to interact effectively with suppliers and customers.
Experience using various computer applications ideally including Mini-tab, Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, SAP, etc.
