CVI LASER OPTICS - COMPANY SUMMARY
At CVI Laser Optics, we specialize in the design and manufacture of high performance optical components for use in lasers, laser beam conditioning, and laser beam delivery from the UV to the near-IR. Develops, implements and coordinates the quality program to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products and systems by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS include the following:
Administers the AS9100 and ISO 9001-2015 program requirements.
Sets up and maintains internal audit system
Responsible for measurement calibration system
Oversight of training systems on site.
Maintains the supplier quality system and must maintain or reinvent the supplier quality notification system
Maintains the incoming inspection system and establishes, maintains and updates as necessary incoming inspection sampling protocols.
Handles Customer complaints and responds with corrective action reports as necessary.
Works with the QC RMA team to communicate customer issues with the team.
Develops initial and subsequent modifications of the quality program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements and operational procedures within program.
Evaluates contents of reports from operational areas and confers with top management personnel preparatory to formulating fiscal budget for product assurance program.
Conducts meetings with manufacturing, management and quality areas to establish, delineate and review program policies, to coordinate functions and operations between departments and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply quality, capacity of vendor to meet orders and vendor quality standards.
Confers with engineers about quality assurance of new products design and manufacturing methods to prevent or rectify problems.
Reviews technical publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.
Ensure all practices in the department are safe and ergonomically correct.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
This position will have access to ITAR sensitive documents and requires U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency.
Experience with statistical techniques and Six Sigma tools.

Working knowledge of RoHS compliance requirements.
BS in optics, physics or related field
Minimum of 5 years quality management experience in an optical manufacturing environment
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
