  • Review and assess direct reports, development plans and personnel decisions.

  • Manage all audits for the location ... approximately 4 audits per year.


Work daily with Quality Control personnel and all departments to ensure that the QMS, CPMS, inventory control procedures and CI processes are robust and driving tangible results for the business.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Food Science -- This knowledge allows for an understanding of chemical reactions that might impact product food safety and food quality.

  • Microbiology -- Plant and equipment cleaning and sanitation effectiveness. Product compliance to standards.

  • Mathematics -- Formula validation and any batch adjustments needed based on nonconformance.

Team skills:

  • This individual will work with all managers, supervisors and plant employees on various continuous improvement projects such as yield improvement, waste reductions, sanitation validations, nonconformance, audits, and inventory at risk, instrument validation and Alchemy. This person will directly supervise up to 12 direct reports at any given time. They will be supervising Team Leads, Laboratory Technicians and Batchers. They have a responsibility to weekly coordinate the work schedule for direct reports based on the production schedule in the plant.

Long-Term Planning and Strategy:

  • Train and develop a qualified team of associates. Identify hipos and work with PM to build a next level development plan.

  • Own all the Quality processes at the location and always strive for new methods to make improvements.

  • Be responsible for all audits at the location including quarterly internal audits of the entire location with involvement of the production and warehouse team.

  • When technical equipment problems or nonconformance's come up, allow for training opportunities with direct reports.

  • Interaction with the PD team, plant manager, and internal and external customers while reviewing CAP's and nonconformances.

  • Use the data collection and analysis tools available to improve and predict performance. Identify gaps in data and/or tools and drive solutions for them to drive the business forward.

  • Projects may include but are not limited to driving improvements with SQFi, yield improvements, change from QC environment to QA, implementing new business units, inventory control procedures and Alchemy.

This role will ensure compliance to training needs, SOPs, processes and other regulatory or company directives are adhered in order to support the operations and quality requirements for business operations. * Reporting compliance status data to operational quality management * Collaborate with center management in the development and implementation of continuous improvement plans * Collaborate with Assistant Quality Manager (AQM), to be able to represent the center during internal and external audits, responds to questions, and may stop operations, including shipments to address quality concerns * Responsible for coordinating and managing training activities, policies and processes at the center level 1 Perform final QA review and release for all shipment and associated documents, to ensure shipment meets customer specifications. 2 Ensure center records QA review to ensure thoroughness, accuracy and timeliness of required information. Initiate investigation and ensure documentation of regulatory deficiencies. Initiate investigation to ensure documentation of deficiencies and development of corrective action plans, as necessary in partnership with management. 9 Identifying and communicate non-conformities to CSL's SOP's. In the absence of the AQM, may conduct monthly quality team meeting to inform, promote, assess and identify opportunities for continuous process improvement in quality, safety, and training for implementation. 10 Promote Safety, Health and Environment Policies & Procedure. Ensure safety training and safety practices are implemented and followed within the center. 11 Conducts and may lead internal audits to monitor facility compliance with CSL procedures and policies, cGMP, OHSA, FDA, and other regulations, as applicable, and develop center responses for deficiencies. In the absence of the AQM, host external audits conducted by the regulatory agencies and customers. 12 Responsible to initiate, investigate and close Trackwise reports in a timely manner. Confirm through follow-up, to ensure appropriate corrective action was initiated, implemented, and effective. 13 Maintain clean efficient work environment. Comply with all Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) policies and procedures. Conduct routine internal procedure and documentation audits, as applicable. 14 Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), company policies and procedures. 15 Comply with all local, state and federal regulations and laws to include, but not limited to: ADA, Civil Rights, EEOC, FDA, GHA, HIPAA, and OSHA. 16 Maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor and center information.
