SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in the production of ready-to-eat food products. This role involves managing all quality assurance processes, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and standards. Position will report directly to plant manager and manage a matrix relationship with Corporate Director of Quality, to influence senior management on alignment of Quality strategies, Quality annual objectives, plant project plans and influence plant leadership with quality best practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, execute, and continually improve a comprehensive quality program as defined by the Campbells Global Food Safety Quality, Microbiological and Sanitation Standards.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality procedures and policies.

  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of food safety programs, including HACCP, GMP, and SQF.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements (FDA, USDA, HACCP, etc.).

  • Respond to new or changes in regulations on policies, specifications, procedures, quality, and implications where utilized in a range of finished product.

  • Oversee compliance and continuous improvement of internal audit program ensuring regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

  • Manage and respond to all food safety and quality incidents and customer complaints, conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.

  • Manage & Drive Consumer Complaint programs, initiatives, and consumer delight models for each business.

  • Manage analytical laboratory and maintain training to CSC Standard of GLP's.

  • Drive Corrective and Preventive Actions for any Food Safety Quality Assurance items.

  • Develop and implement sanitation policies and procedures to ensure a clean and safe manufacturing environment.

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the sanitation team, ensuring all areas of the facility are properly cleaned and sanitized.

  • Conduct regular sanitation audits and inspections to verify adherence to sanitation standards.

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to Environmental Monitoring Program, and actively addressing any corrective actions to resolve failures.

  • Ensure compliance with plants IPM program, addressing any areas of concerns.

  • Collaborate with Corporate Micro and Sanitation to ensure escalations and protocols are being adhered to, and support is provided where and when needed.

  • Identify areas for process improvement and lead initiatives to enhance product quality, safety, and operational efficiency, utilizing continuous improvement tools.

  • Collaborate with production and R&D teams to develop and implement new processes and technologies.

  • Drive product evaluation and garnish employee participation.

  • Prepare and present regular reports on quality and sanitation metrics, trends, and areas of concern to senior management.

  • Ensure all quality and sanitation documentation is up-to-date and compliant with regulatory requirements.

  • Support plant programs, safety, reliability, and employee relationships.

  • Trouble shoot quality issues across the varied supply chains for ingredients, packaging, materials, and finished products supplied (examples; mixed labels, allergen risk management, equipment risk management, container nonconformance).

  • Drive decision making regarding quality in Food Safety, Regulatory, and Quality Systems and their application within food processing.

  • Support and influence manufacturing, including best practices and innovative technologies using business acumen skills.

  • Ensure plant personnel are technically capable of handling non-routine quality system issues and that issues are investigated, documented, and resolved.

  • Drive organizational alignment on Quality objectives with an enterprise-wide mindset, and the adaptation of structure, processes, and systems to achieve objectives.

  • Support execution of Campbells Way of Working as the leader of the Quality Pillar.

LEADERSHIP/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITY

  • Directly supervises Quality Assurance and Sanitation department personnel.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the QA and sanitation teams, building future leaders with strong succession plans and IDP development

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality excellence within the team.

  • Collaborate with cross functional leaders and team to build strong organizational quality culture.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment within Quality Assurance function

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Associates Degree

  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance within the food manufacturing industry

  • 3+ years of experience in a managerial/leadership role within the food manufacturing industry

  • Experience within Environmental Monitor Program

  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards: FDA, USDA, HACCP, SQF

  • PCQI certification

  • SAP

Compensation and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between

$85,900-$140,800

Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
