Our food manufacturing client located in Columbus, NE is looking to add a Quality Assurance Manager to their facility. This Manager is responsible for the overall product safety, quality and regulatory compliance for this plant. Must be a team player who wants to devote themselves to a prosperous culture!!!!



Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of preventative quality systems, specification compliance and operator training and development.
  • Implement and monitor the company’s QA Program at the facility according to established policies and procedures and assuring the accuracy of data.
  • Establish quality specifications for incoming raw materials with purchasing and monitoring these raw materials to ensure that specifications are met.
  • Recruit, direct, coach, manage and supervise all QA personnel constantly raising the standard of performance.
  • Process test the ingredients and ensure that the specifications are met and adhered to by production personnel.
  • Develop and oversee laboratory budget, identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve margins.
  • Assist operations with establishing procedures and supervising all product and process development and test runs, reporting all results.

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science or related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of previous manufacturing QA Management experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Dairy experience is HIGHLY PREFERRED!
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and computer software applications.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Issues Product certificates on finished batches as the last function to assure compliance of records before product is released. Maintains local oversight of materials moving through the supply chain while on hold or in quarantine. Provides assistance during various investigations. Regular, punctual attendance is an essential job function. Ability to speak, read and write English. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and practices and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Job Description Perform the sterilization run record review (both gamma and EO), assuring all sterilization parameters were met. Perform the sterility, biological indicator and EO residual results review, assuring conformance. Perform the final review of sterile batch records, assuring all records required for the batch are present, complete, accurate, and the results recorded meet product requirements. Identifies any deficiencies and returns the sterile batch record to the responsible organization for correction prior to final certification of the batch. Initiates Quality Notifications, as required, related to sterilization and lab failures. Issue the final release certification for the batch. Maintain and monitor global holds related to sterilized product. Maintain and monitor Return Authorizations and Scrap, utilizing the appropriate Sharepoint Site. Develop strong working relationships with the microbiology lab, the chemistry lab and supply chain with some interaction with the Distribution Center. Be a key resource during various investigations. Work with limited supervision. Other duties as assigned. JG2 PCP Level 1 * Associates Degree in Science or Business preferred. * 1-3 years experience with medical device manufacturing or similar industry. * 1-3 years experience with SAP quality transactions.
