Plans, coordinates and directs quality programs designed to ensure continual improvement of product quality.
Ensure company and customer quality requirements are met.
Participate in review of manufacturing and testing of new product to ensure quality requirements are fulfilled.
Design and implement process capability studies, as required to qualify products.
Provide guidance in the implementation of testing procedures to ensure quality requirements are met.
Track root causes of quality issues, coordinate corrective actions, and implement appropriate adjustments using established systems.
Facilitate performance metrics systems and present to management groups.
Interface with customers, vendors, and 3rd party assessors, and applicable regulatory agencies.
Ensure proper usage and calibration of measuring devices (i.e. calipers, gages, etc.).
Direct employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure control over materials and products including responsibility for the data collection systems.
Responsible for sanitation and good manufacturing practice compliance.
Facilitate continual product safety in accordance with SQF 2000 through administration of Pre-requisite, HACCP, and Food Safety Programs. Communicate with plant personnel the compliance status to food safety requirements as part of the role of SQF Practitioner.
Support and maintain systems as defined in ISO 9001 including documented procedures, audits, and programs. Report on the effectiveness of the systems in the role of ISO Management Representative.
Facilitate teamwork focused on quality and operational improvement as well as customer satisfaction.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, and training of employees, placing, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience: B.A./B.S. from four-year college or university, or two to five years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend detailed instructions, correspondence and memos. Ability to write detailed correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small or large group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts, such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical solutions.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in varying situations.
