The Quality Manager is responsible for the Quality Sytems in place in our Phillipsburg, NJ manufacturing facility. Ideal candiate will have experience in the pharmaceutical industry or medical device manufacturing, be able to multi task in complex manufacturing environment. 3-5 years of experience as a Quality Manager is preferred. Strong organizational and planning skills, as well as superior interpersonal, communication and demonstrated leadership skills are required.

The Quality Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining quality systems that ensure conformance to inspection procedures and standards. Evaluates and responds to customer improvement opportunities and facilitates corrective action.

Assures Quality records are maintained in an organized and traceable system. Develops and implements programs to continuously improve plant performance. Facilitates and oversees the internal audit function. Knowledge of ISO and packaging industry preferred.

VIEW JOBS 2/18/2020 12:00:00 AM 2020-05-18T00:00 Job Summary The Quality Manager directs the activities for the quality organization for their respective facility. This includes quality assurance and quality control activities in line with Company objectives, policies and standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Manage, organize, oversee and ensure the objectives of the QA/QC function are implemented in line with Corporate, site quality and business goals * Develop, manage, and maintain the quality management system to meet applicable regulatory requirements (FDA CFRs, U.S, and international regulations) and international quality standards; ensure products meet customer quality expectations and requirements * Direct and oversee all department staff and manage performance accordingly; perform interview, disciplinary and performance management tasks; identify needs, and provide training, for development and support for all staff * Develop, monitor and manage approved departmental budget * Ensure products are tested and released for sale in accordance with approved specifications and procedures * Ensure timely closure of all non-conformances, failure investigation reports and corrective/preventive actions; develop strategies for continuous improvement * Analyze and present related reports, data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for management and executive review as requested * Maintain minimal testing backlog * Support production by minimizing downtime waiting on lab * Direct ownership for the timely disposition of quality blocked material * Direct and participate in the management and maintenance of the internal and external audit programs * Ensure that the audits are completed in an accurate and timely manner Serve as main point of contact and participate in regulatory inspections including quality management representative for ISO as well as customer audits * Ensure maintenance of procedures relating to quality, manufacturing, regulatory affairs and other functions * Manage and maintain a system for handling and evaluating customer complaints Work in conjunction with other internal departments and external customers as appropriate, ensuring that the executive management are informed of serious and/or life threatening complaints * Support the quality management systems and regulatory functions ensuring a unified RA/QA commitment to established critical success factors, goals and objectives * Maintain the Company's established quality system under the requirements of ISO9001, 21 CFR 820 QSR, 21 CFR 600, 21 CFR 211 as appropriate ensuring that the facility complies with ISO, FDA and food safety standards * Ensure that facilities, equipment, materials, organization, procedures and validations are current and that data integrity requirements are being met * Ensure the QA organization is properly trained * Support new products transfer; complete other related work as assigned * Perform other duties as assigned with or without accommodation MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Education: * Bachelor's Degree in chemistry, life science, quality or related technical field required * Active member of the American Society for Quality preferred Experience: * Minimum eight (8) years of related experience utilizing QMS knowledge within the life science industry required * Minimum of five (5) years of experience in biopharmaceuticals/cGMP manufacturing plant support * Experience with analytical testing procedures and general knowledge of all technical functions and services similar to that of Avantor required * Experience working within ISO 9001:2008 and FDA (QSR, cGMP, ICHQ7) regulated environments required * Proven track record of QC lab productivity improvement required * Project management experience implementing new sub-systems required * Experience managing budgets across multiple functions required * Experience and strong working knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and related FDA regulations * Management experience required * Knowledge of ISO 9000 standards preferred Skills/Competencies: * Understands and embraces the concept of Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement philosophies * Demonstrated ability to work in team environment;
