Responsible for the training and instruction of all newly hired Freight Handlers, while improving the following four processes: cargo claims prevention, dock efficiency, trailer cube utilization, and injury prevention. Responsible for the continual development of all Freight Handlers, utilizing the Quality Improvement Process and the Individualized Quality work group structure.
Ability to understand and utilize the methods, procedures, and techniques for loading and securing cargo in or on a vehicle and to determine if the cargo being transported has been properly located, distributed, and secured on or in a vehicle for the purposes of training newly hired associates. Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be an effective communicator with strong persuasion skills in both group and individual presentations. Ability to operate scanning devices. Must have the judgment necessary to perform the functions of the job.
Must be comfortable speaking in front of groups and have the ability to communicate tactfully and diplomatically with the individuals whom the associate will be in contact. A satisfactory past work record is preferred. Ability to understand, implement, and demonstrate safe, efficient freight handling and lifting procedures.
6 months of Less Than Truckload (LTL) freight handling experience A High School Diploma or GED is required
