The Quality Assurance Lead handles all quality assurance related activities at the Rockwood, MI plant. The Quality Assurance Lead plans, implements, leads and executes all aspects of Quality Assurance, Testing and Change Management Control as related to ISO 9001
Essential Job Functions:
Serves as the Plant Quality Lead for the Rockwood, MI plant.
Collaborates with the Corporate Quality Lead to ensure that the QMS meets the requirements of ISO 9001
Ensures that all processes are achieving their intended outputs
Reports on the performance of the QMS and opportunities for improvement
Ensures that the integrity of the QMS is maintained when changes are made
Maintains internal and external customer requirements
Provide monthly and quarterly SPC reports to customers, upon request
Provide monthly QA report to Plant Manager, which includes complaints/nonconformances, statistics, and highlights of monthly activities
Leads quality reviews with Plant Manager and process owners
Ensures effective communication between quality assurance and other plant process areas
Owns and manages change as related to the quality function
Maintains training documentation
Maintains the internal audit program
Communicates with customers including, but not limited to, nonconformances, customer audits, and specifications
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent training with a strong background in chemistry and mathematics
Recommended 5-year minimum experience in similar position
Experience in different development methodologies
Experience with formal change management processes and tools a plus
Must have demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of existing quality assurance best practices and methodologies to design, implement, and automate processes.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Good working knowledge of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems and statistical process control
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
Good planning and organization skills
Basic project management skills
Working knowledge of testing methodologies of general laboratory practices and equipment, test procedures for physical and chemical analysis, mathematics and statistics
