OVERVIEW: We are currently seeking and Intern for our Quality Assurance department based out of our Dallas, Texas factory. Nestl Waters North America offers meaningful internships to high-potential students. For 10-12 weeks over the summer, participants are assigned substantive projects and receive developmental feedback to gain a better understanding of the roles within Quality and Food Safety at the world's leading bottled water company. At the end, we hope to meet one of the key objectives of the internship program, to develop students into high-caliber candidates for future full-time employment with Nestl Waters North America.

RESPONSIBILITES/DUTIES

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide all necessary support for internal /external audits and provide sustainable corrective/preventive actions for gaps.

  • Provide backup / support for QA positions as needed

  • Ensures the quality of all processes from raw materials to finished products through inspection, diagnosis and record keeping.

  • Operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments as required by the ICP / calibration program

  • Project Management (analyze data, make recommendations and assist in the implementation of process improvements)

  • Support with raw material /finished product holds, records, disposition and root cause analysis

  • Ability to work off shift and Night's as needed

  • GMP monitoring and implementation

  • Review / monitor consumer complaints and perform complaint closure as needed

  • Monitor and maintain overall hygienic condition of facility

  • Maintain / create SOPs relevant to position

  • FSBO and SBO program participation

  • Support factory Release Program

  • Maintain and follow up issues addressed in the Master Gap List

  • Participate in HACCP program relating to sources and Finished Product.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Rising Junior or Senior pursing a Bachelor's Degree in Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Sciences, or other related areas of study

  • Good academic standing, with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0

  • Good base knowledge in Problem-solving, root-cause analysis, and statistical methods

  • Strong communication skills enjoys preparing and delivering presentations

  • Effective leadership in team and group activities

  • Strong project management, measurement, analysis, troubleshooting, communication, and teaching/training skills

  • Solid computer skills MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, etc.) will be involved with Training

  • Professional writing skills

  • Preference will be given to students who show interest in returning for multiple work terms, and may be interested in joining as a permanent employment upon graduation

Project lead on the following: * Prepare the repair station to be AS9110 certified/comply with all AS9110 requirements * Prepare the quality clinic to be certified under the new GQA requirements * Detail the GQA requirements for the PW1100 EBU install and boroscope controlled build Operations engagement: * Assist with the daily workload of building and reviewing work packages * Assist with keeping the repair station in compliance with all regulatory and Global EH&S requirements. LMS future plans: * Assist with LMS ACE projects (i.e. tooling kitting) * Assist with creating tooling and 2D matrix database * Understand market demands to develop new repairs within the PW fleet Experience/Qualifications: * Experience in MS PowerPoint and Excel required * Self-starter, who can prioritize to meet various deadlines * Ability to multitask, problem solve and execute appropriate decision making in a fast paced environment * Strong oral and written communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills * Results oriented, while being customer focused * Ability to work within a team environment Education/Certification: * Must currently be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering field.
