Quality Assurance Inspector

Our QA Inspector will maintain the exceptional quality standards of incoming materials. This important technical position will have direct influence on the quality of incoming components, assemblies, and/or finished goods for R&D and production builds. This individual must have experience using various types of inspection equipment to carry out adequate inspection/testing.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a self starter and possess a great attention to detail. This individual will interact on a daily basis with R&D, Manufacturing/NPI, Quality and Purchasing resources to execute and coordinate inspections of components, sub-assemblies and products to ensure they meet requirements by performing or managing the following duties.

Required Experience and Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience and/or training with a High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience in a quality inspection role

  • Experience in the medical device industry with complex systems strongly preferred

  • Basic knowledge Medical Device regulations with clear understanding of documentation, identification and traceability requirements.

  • Basic in GD&T and metrology. Able to read detailed blueprints, conduct mechanical inspection, and follow assembly instructions. Gage R&R knowledge preferred.

  • Ability to properly identify and segregate conforming and nonconforming materials

  • Ability to operate automated inspection equipment

  • Basic knowledge of IPC standards

  • Good understanding of statistical acceptance sampling methods for IQC such as AQL sampling or C=0 and sliding concepts to drive sampling methods

  • Ability to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices

  • Possess strong communication skills and a desire to learn

The candidate will be expected to play a role in system design so that QA is considered throughout the entire lifecycle of the product The candidate will: * Derive test plan requirements from product requirements documents. * Design and specify a test infrastructure using (or enhancing) the existing automation framework to execute the test plan. * Review test plans, test procedures and infrastructure for adequacy and completeness/correctness. * Analyze results of tests and interact with development engineers, architects/PM and test community in the resolution/root causing of test failures. * Script all test cases using the automation environment and have them integrated in the regression infrastructure. * Hands off and help integrate feature into system test beds. * 4-6 years of experience with Bachelor / Master's degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering. * Good communication skills and be able to deal with conflicts and resolve them as necessary. * Detailed understanding of Cloud Management Systems such as Openstack * Basic understanding of networking in general, TCP/IP, L2 protocols (STP, 802.1s, 802.1w, 802.3ad, 802.1q, 802.1p, …), multicast protocols (IGMP, PIM, DVMRP, …), L3/routing protocols (OSPF, RIP, VRRP, ISIS, BGP …), networking standards, L2/L3 edge systems (PW, VPLS, L3 VPN). * 1-5 years of software development or testing experience in networking products. * Must be good at Python, C, TCL, Perl or any one popular Unix scripting language. * Should have either used a test automation framework or built one or contributed towards building one.
