The Quality Assurance Inspector for Customer Broader Protection (CBP) Shall be directly responsible for the Quality Assurance Program and shall advise his supervisor, as well as the Customs Maintenance Officer, of any discrepancies. He shall be directly responsible for, but not limited to:

Monitoring the performance of required aircraft airworthiness inspections and preparing the necessary forms and certifications, appropriate both to military aircraft and to general aviation aircraft

Reviewing airframe and engine logbooks

Insuring that all assigned aircraft meets the appropriate airworthiness standards

Monitoring all required forms and reports regarding aircraft, as well as related parts inventory, parts usage; and associated ground support equipment

To include checking Aviation Life Support Equipment (ALSE) in accordance with appropriate operation manuals per scheduled inspections.

Performing duties of a working Leadman as assigned. When working in this capacity, will report to the Site Manager

May be required to perform other duties as required to support the overall mission


The Contract Maintenance Supervisor shall insure quality assurance procedures and policies are followed in the performance of Customs maintenance.

The incumbent receives general instructions from the Contract Maintenance Supervisor and exercises initiative, coupled with good judgment, in the performance of quality assurance duties.


Shall have completed at least five (5) years' experience working full-time as an aircraft and power plant mechanic.

Working knowledge of both military and general aviation aircraft.

Must be well versed in the maintenance of all aircraft systems and all aircraft logbooks.

Must have demonstrated reliability, initiative and a good technical ability in past employment.

Must possess a FAA, A&P, IA license and have been actively employed in a similar aircraft maintenance environment within the past twelve (12) months.

Assists in all environmental health inspections (food, water, air contamination) and takes lead in vector control and zoonotic disease prevention. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed inside and/or outside an office. Work may be exposed to a variety of weather conditions and outdoor elements, such as: excessive dampness, chill, heat, humidity, intermittent noise, and inclement cold weather. Work may be exposed to a variety of environmental conditions, such as: unknown & dangerous conditions, unusual environmental stress, contagious infectious disease, irritating chemicals, life-threatening situations, dry atmosphere, solvents, dirt, grease, oils, dust, constant noise, pneumatic vibration, fumes, smoke, gases, and slippery/uneven walking surfaces. Capable of working closely with others or alone, working long or irregular working hours, working shift work and/or weekends, working with protective devices, working with hands in water, and traveling by car 50% of the time. Ability to operate a motor vehicle, office equipment, and mechanical equipment; Work requires light to moderate carrying and lifting (under 15 pounds up to 44 pounds), straight pulling, pulling hand over hand, simple grasping, dual simultaneous grasping, repeated bending, sitting, standing, pushing, crouching, crawling, twisting, kneeling, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, walking, and reaching above shoulders. Ability to see, write, read, count, identify shade of colors, perceive depth, and hearing is needed to perform the essential functions of this job. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Inspects food establishments, tourist and trailer camps, schools, swimming pools, private and semi-private water and sewerage plants, dairies, milk and milk products plants, and slaughter houses. * Inspects tire shops, environmental hazards, vector breeding and takes remediation action including enforcement. * Conducts vector control, using all public health and scientific methods for prevention and remediation including fumigation. * Makes inspections for rat infestations and recommends corrections; collects environmental data and recommends proper procedures for the elimination of environmental problems. * Inspects fly and mosquito breeding places and initiates various means of control, including insecticide application. * Makes inspections for the purpose of correcting unsanitary conditions caused by poultry, animals, garbage disposal, improper collection of garbage, and other violations to health ordinances. * Issues citations for violations to health code and follows up by court appearance. * Performs epidemiological investigations including animal bite incidents. * Disseminates information relating to sanitation activities and enlists public cooperation in reaching the desired objectives for the proper maintenance of sanitary conditions. * Prepares and submits written and oral reports along with the records and data concerning work performed. * Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use. * Performs other duties assigned. Minimum Qualifications Associates Degree from an accredited college or university. * AND- At least two (2) years of experience in public health, or environmental sanitation, environmental sciences, disease control and/or remediation. * OR- High School Diploma or G.E.D. * AND- At least four (4) years of experience in public health, or sanitation, environmental sciences, disease control, and/or remediation. Valid Licenses and Certifications Pest Control Insecticide Applicator's License must be obtained within twenty four (24) months of employment. Continued employment is contingent on successfully obtaining required certification(s) and/or license(s) within the specified period of time indicated above from time of hire.
