Opportunity for a Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of Operations Quality in a busy and growing Manufacturing Facility. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement.

As a Quality Engineer (Quality Assurance Engineer II), you're a key member of the production value stream. The scope of your responsibilities will include process planning, inspection and test methodology, Non-Conforming Material Control, issue resolution and product acceptance. In addition, you'll be involved with defect prevention through data analysis and effective execution of Root Cause Analysis and associated Corrective Action Implementation.

In this high visibility role, you'll also be a key member of cross-functional teams, bringing your Quality Science skills and expertise to drive issue resolution and process improvement. In addition, you'll have regular interface with internal (DCMA) and external (DoD/MDA) customers. This position also includes production floor support to address process and supplier issues at all levels.

This role will require obtaining a secret clearance.

This position can be a Salary Grade G07 or Salary Grade G08 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position.

Required Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in Operations and/or Quality Experience with analytical skills in root-cause analysis and/or corrective/preventive actions.

  • Manufacturing Process/Production Floor Support Experience

  • Prior Metal Fabrication/Machine Shop experience

  • Customer Interface experience

Desired Skills:

  • Ability to build effective relationships through partnering and collaboration

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience with quality systems

  • Ability to interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing requirements on technical drawings.

  • Workmanship/Inspection Standard Knowledge

Within the Supplier Engineering Team, the Statement of Work (SOW) Team is responsible for facilitating cross-functional, stakeholder participation in the development of high-quality, process-compliant, best-fit Statements-of-Work. The SOW team mitigates subcontract risk by ensuring customer requirements, program intentions, and Raytheon best practices are integrated into clear, concise, and compliant SOWs for all IDS programs. Supplier Engineering is looking for a well-organized, self-starter to join the Supplier Engineering Team, responsible for: * Being the main point of contact for IDS relative to SOW Best Practices and SOW Development Subject Matter Expertise (SME) * Providing SOW Team leadership – setting a strategic vision, establishing team goals, measuring and reporting team performance, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and managing indirect budgets * Managing SOW Team personnel – recruiting talent, training employees, staffing and balancing workload, and coaching / assisting team members * Embracing the SOW Team Charter: Mitigate risk in subcontracts by ensuring high-quality, process-compliant SOWs * Being the custodian of SOW processes, tools, and enablers (including SOW Templates) * Driving improvements in the subcontract SOW domain to align to business goals and strategic initiatives with a projected return on investment (ROI) * Leading and maintaining the SOW Qualification Program, which enables candidates to achieve a recognized status of 'Qualified SOW Specialist' to ensure that competent SOW development resources are available to IDS, even beyond the SOW Team members * Fostering cross-business collaboration with teammates or counterparts from other Raytheon business segments Note: While IDS's Supplier Engineering Team resides in Mechanical Engineering Directorate's Platform Integration Department, the team includes members from all IDS Engineering Directorates.
