Raytheon Missiles & Defense is seeking a Quality Manager II in our Farmington, NM location.

The Quality Manager II (QM) for the Regional Manufacturing and Integration Center, This role will have Quality Management responsibility for the Raytheon Missiles & Defense Dine' Facility (Farmington, New Mexico) as well as the McAlester, OK, and Camden, AR Raytheon Missiles & Defense manufacturing facilities.

This individual will be responsible for the manufacturing quality management system for the applicable factories as well as work with the Program Quality Managers and lead continuous program health assessments, improve customer deliverable products, manage internal and external customer relationships, ensure program compliance to the Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, support all product lifecycle phases, partner with various program leaders and teams, lead Quality personnel activities and development, and implement functional initiatives.

The major roles and responsibilities are to:

  • Develop partnerships with Program and Factory leaders to define strategies that shape Raytheon's ability to become the provider of choice for program(s) and Product Line's products and services

  • Identify and integrate advancements that enable strategic business growth, enhance customer relationships and improve profitability

  • Assess/define key technical parameters to ensure products meet end item performance requirements and mission assurance objectives

  • Lead the quality and factory team to a high maturity of continuous and measurable improvement to affect business success

  • Apply knowledge of industry level practices to improve performance

  • Drive factory compliance to requirements, performing as site representative for QMS audits

  • Sustain continuous assessment of implementation of systems, policies, and procedures to ensure the highest standards of efficiency and impact on the business

  • Define, measure and drive process controls

  • Define what good quality looks like at all stages of the value stream

  • Lead collection and analysis of data to drive necessary changes to reduce defects, meet quality requirements, and implement strategic initiatives

  • Lead team activities to eliminate out-of-phase defects, reduce/eliminate re-occurring non-conformances through effective root cause and corrective action investigations (FRACAS), and utilize metrics to help prioritize and reduce defects per unit

  • Embed Mission Assurance work products to preempt risk and drive attention-to-detail culture

  • Work with Factory management and Supplier Quality to eliminate/minimize factory defects and supplier escapes

  • Provide management oversight, direction, and feedback on employee performance and development for all quality team members

  • Provide direction for the Quality Inspectors

Required Skills (minimum requirements)::

  • 8 Years' experience, with progressively increasing leadership, in a manufacturing environment with experience in functional areas such as Engineering, Quality Engineering, and/or Operations.

  • Experience with process development and creation/execution of strategic plans and innovative ideas to meet business objectives

  • Experience with Earned Value Systems (EVMS), EAC, Basis of Estimates (BOE) and/or Budget Management

  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) eg. ISO9000, AS9100

  • Experience with software based MRP systems

  • Engineering Management experience and developing Engineering talent across levels

  • Lean Manufacturing experience

  • Ability to Obtain a DOD Security Clearance

  • Approximately 25% travel

  • Required Education: B.S.

  • Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Technology

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Previous responsibilities building and maintaining effective business relationships with DCMA and DoD customers

  • Experience leading, multi-disciplined/multi-functional teams in highly-matrixed environment

  • Experience leading change management strategies to drive performance improvement across an enterprise

  • Previous responsibilities collaborate and communicate effectively with key stakeholders across the corporation, business functions and product lines

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer or other ASQ certification

  • Level 5 Mission Assurance Certification

  • CAM certification

  • Lead high-performing, multi-disciplined/multi-functional teams in highly-matrixed environment

  • Lead change management strategies to drive performance improvement across an enterprise

  • Experience in various phases of IPDS system, such as proposals, development, and integration and test

  • International experience

  • Desired: B.S.

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, or PhD)
