Quality Assurance Engineer

THIS POSITION IS FULLY REMOTE!!!

Position Objective: We are seeking a versatile candidate who can conduct quality assurance testing for a government customer's flagship application and multiple supporting applications. Candidate will be responsible for creating test plans, developing automated test procedures, and performing quality assurance testing of software products. He/she will work directly with the application development team, reviewing functional design specifications and source code, writing functional systems and performance test plans, summarizing test results, and analyzing, reporting and tracking bugs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead QA effort throughout the software testing lifecycle to ensure applications are comprehensively tested and ready for customer release.

• Create release notes, test plans and test cases for sprints.

• Create, maintain and execute functional/regression/re-test test plans, test cases and automated test scripts.

• Report issue defects and work with development/support teams to manage defects until issue resolution.

• Write, review, and execute black box and white box tests.

• Provide test case coverage and defect metrics to substantiate release decisions.

• Assist in on-going process improvement efforts related to QA.

• Integration known bugs from incident system into test plans

Basic Qualifications:

• US Citizenship

• Bachelor's degree in related field.

• 3+ years' experience in quality assurance testing of web-based software applications.

• Willing and able to get a Public Trust clearance.

• Solid understanding of the software development process.

• Strong knowledge of QA practices and policies.

• Experience with web server side scripting languages such as ColdFusion, .NET, JSP, or PHP (ColdFusion required).

• Proven success running builds, creating releases, deploying to a QA environment

• Automated UI testing experience

• Strong experience with relational databases (preferably SQL Server and/or Oracle)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong organizational skills

• Effective at multi-tasking, working under tight deadlines and able to complete tasks with a minimum of supervision.

• Excellent written language skills and ability to write clear, concise and easy-to-understand documentation.

• Experience with load testing or the capability/willingness to learn such is highly desired (specifically, MicroFocus ALM performance testing).
