Position Summary/Objective

The Quality Assurance Engineer will perform design validation on new product releases and also on new software releases of existing products, create Acceptance Test Procedures for production to properly test the product to the design specifications, and interface with production and R&D Engineering to provide support. The QA Engineering team is a shared service supporting all 3 AstroNova business groups including Product Identification, Aerospace, and Test & Measurement.

This is a full-time, Monday - Friday position ideal for an entry level engineer looking to grow their career with a global manufacturing company.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain test procedures used in manufacturing and test of product.

  • Develop, program, and maintain automated test routines used for testing of completed products on the in-house designed test cell.

  • Develop, maintain, and coordinate Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) testing utilizing a shake and vibration table and an environmental chamber.

  • Perform root cause analysis on production and field failures to formulate corrective and preventative actions.

  • Provide support to the production test and repair technicians to ensure proper acceptance testing is performed.

  • Meet with customers directly or on conference calls to support new product releases and field problem resolution.

  • Perform HALT/HASS testing to develop environmental test plans for new products.

  • Perform validation on components to be used on existing designs.

  • Participate or lead continuous improvement projects.

Required Education and Experience

  • BS in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience

Additional Preferred Skills, Experience, and Certifications

  • At least one year of experience in an electronics engineering environment

  • A strong understanding of schematic and assembly diagrams is recommended.

  • Familiarity with the continuous improvement process referred to as LEAN manufacturing.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, stoop, bend and reach.

Special Working Conditions / Travel Requirements

This position requires little travel, but at times travel may be required to maintain customer relationships.
