Position Summary__________________________________________________________

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring services meet the established standards set by Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and the agency. Quality assurance coordinators are responsible for monitoring, inspecting, and proposing measures to correct or improve an agency's final products and processes to meet established quality standards. Extensive travel is required.

Education and Professional Work Experience___________________________________

Minimum Qualifications

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in business administration, human services, or related field; plus, four years of experience in evaluating or auditing programs, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience with Vocational Rehabilitation programs and services, or direct service provided to individuals with disabilities.

  • One-year investigative skills, ability to multitask within an electronic case management system, and the ability to read, interpret, and present policy information for training purposes.

  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products is required, especially Microsoft Excel and Word. The candidate must effectively communicate orally and in writing.

  • Knowledge of and the effective application of grammar, punctuation, and spelling rules is required.

  • Public presentation experience is desired. Management and organizational skills are required, with attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and agency standards concerning quality assurance.

  • Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information and prepare reports.

  • Ability to interpret state and federal laws and regulations and agency standards concerning quality assurance.

  • Ability to conduct audits of agencies' operations, investigate problems, and gauge quality of service.

  • Ability to utilize computer software and applications.

Job Responsibilities and Expected Results

  • Develop and modifies agency-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance and ensures compliance with state and federal laws and guidelines.

  • Read, comprehend, and effectively apply federal, state, and agency policies, procedures, and administrative guidelines to facilitate processes.

  • Conduct case reviews, review staff reports of audit findings, and investigate reasons for problems, errors, or lack of quality of services.

  • Attend various meetings regarding quality assurance and serves as a liaison with other state, regional, and national agencies and groups concerning related programs.

  • Provide technical assistance to agency personnel on quality assurance by conducting team training sessions.

  • Develop effective and interactive training programs and materials to support employee development and organizational enhancement.

  • Present information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, and lectures.

  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the-job training.

  • Manage and update training material as needed.

  • Scan, image, organize, and maintain documents.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $45,010.00 - $65,265.00

Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing the quality assurance program for an agency. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.

Functions

Supervises administrative support staff by interviewing applicants, making hire or termination recommendations, training, assigning and reviewing work, and evaluating the performance of incumbents. Evaluates program services and identifies areas in need of improvement and submits programs to superiors or committee for approval. Provides technical assistance to agency personnel on quality assurance by conducting team training sessions in audit methodology and procedures. Conducts audits, reviews staff reports of audit findings, and investigates reasons for problems, errors, or lack of quality of services. Attends various meetings regarding quality assurance and serves as a liaison with other state, regional, and national agencies and groups concerning related programs. Compiles information and recommendations into various program reports and presents to the Quality Assurance Committee for review. Develops and modifies agency-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance programs and ensures program compliance with state and federal laws and guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management.
