Position Summary

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for planning and directing the quality assurance program for an agency. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Extensive travel is required.

Education and Professional Work Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor' degree in health administration, human

services, or related field; plus, four years of experience case management or planning, including two years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience as: vocational rehabilitation counselor, vocational rehabilitation program assistant, or direct service provider to individuals with disabilities.

Experience with vocational rehabilitation programs and services, including services provided by Community Rehabilitation Programs and Supported Employment Providers.

One year of investigative skills

Ability to multitask within a case management system

Ability to read, interpret, and present policy information for training purposed

KNOWLEDGES, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

Knowledge of quality assurance procedures or programs.

Knowledge of state and federal laws and agency standards concerning quality assurance.

Ability to communicate information and provide technical assistance to agencies regarding

quality assurance.

Ability to plan, organize, and oversee the work of subordinates.

Ability to research, analyze, and evaluate information and prepare reports.

Ability to interpret state and federal laws and regulations and agency standards concerning quality assurance.

Ability to conduct audits of agencies' operations, investigate problems, and gauge quality of service.

Ability to utilize computer software and applications

Job Responsibilities and Expected Results

Evaluates program services and identifies areas in need of improvement and submits programs to superiors or committee for approval.

Provides technical assistance to agency personnel on quality assurance by conducting team training session.

Conducts audits, reviews staff reports of audit findings, and investigates reasons for problems,

errors, or lack of quality of services.

Attends various meetings regarding quality assurance and serves as a liaison with other state, regional, and national agencies and groups concerning related programs.

Compile information and recommendations into various program reports and presents to the Quality Assurance Committee for review.

Develops and modifies agency-wide policies, procedures, and standards related to quality assurance programs and ensures program compliance with state and federal laws and guidelines.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Provides technical assistance to agency personnel on quality assurance by conducting team training sessions in audit methodology and procedures. Conducts audits, reviews staff reports of audit findings, and investigates reasons for problems, errors, or lack of quality of services. Attends various meetings regarding quality assurance and serves as a liaison with other state, regional, and national agencies and groups concerning related programs.

Compiles information and recommendations into various program reports and presents to the Quality Assurance Committee for review. Minimum Qualifications

Additional requirements determined by the agency for recruiting purposes require review and approval by the Office of Personnel Management. Works cross functionally to standardize the quality management system through day-to-day quality and continuous improvements activities for the facility. Responsibilities To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. * Supports changes and improvements to quality management system including development of new procedures and work instructions. * Supports document control system including publication and distribution of new documents. * Maintains quality auditing tools based on engineering specifications, engineering changes, or deviations * Supports the preparation for external audits, as needed, 3rd party and customer. * Supports the maintenance of SPC software for monitoring, controlling, and reducing product and process variation. * Coordinates and conducts internal audits for quality systems, products, and processes. * Supports and coordinates corrective action requests (CARs) to suppliers, including follow-up and closure. * Works with other plants and corporate contacts to improve the shared, regional quality system elements. * Assists manufacturing shop-floor with corrective action resolution for internal key performance indicators, KPIs, and external customer issues, including warranty. * Works with manufacturing shop-floor and other departments on problem-solving initiatives and link actions and outcomes to Control Plans, PFMEAs, plant inspection points, and customer returns. * Use EH&S controls, such as JSA, work and management practices, and personal protective equipment (PPE) to protect and safeguard all people. * Use EH&S controls, along with work and management practices, to safeguard all people, equipment and the environment from environmental hazards. * Participate in incident investigations and track corrective actions taken in Intelex. * Complete or assist with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning and execution. * Regular attendance and timeliness is required in order to give sufficient support to the plant-wide team. * Other tasks may be required on an as needed basis. * While performing the duties of this job the individual is occasionally required to vary their schedules times and shifts. Preferred * High school diploma * Minimum of a two year technical degree in science, engineering, or quality. * Experience working in a union manufacturing plant is a plus. * Two years experience working in a quality or continuous improvement position. * Six Sigma or Lean training and/or certification. * Knowledge and experience of problem-solving and quality improvement methodologies. * JDE Edwards experience.
