Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring complete and accurate readiness for all inspections

  • Maintain all necessary documents and materials required for inspections

  • Provides backup inspection support to laboratory during inspections

  • Keep up with all required proficiency testing and examinations

  • Performs internal audits and prepares audit reports

  • Preparing recurring quality reports for laboratory operations

  • Address and resolve all managed care and regulatory complaints

  • Stay current with all regulatory agency and proficiency test requirements

  • Proper initiation and use of Master Control forms for audit purposes

  • Participates in monthly Quality Meeting and composes minutes

  • Assists Safety Officer with Safety Orientation

  • Any other delegated task as assigned

Requirements

  • BS in Medical Technology or equivalent

  • ASCP certification is preferred

  • 2-5 years' experience in a laboratory environment is required

  • Prior experience in a quality related position is preferred

  • General knowledge of laboratory regulations (CAP/CLIA) and licensing requirements

  • Must be familiar with QC rules and their application within the laboratory

  • General understanding of audit related requirements and procedures

  • Working knowledge of quality assurance best practices

  • Must possess excellent analytical, critical thinking, oral and written skills

  • Well organized and ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment

  • High level of attention to detail

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Access, Outlook and PowerPoint

The Opportunity As the company continues to grow, we are seeking a Quality Engineer 2. The Quality Engineer II, Quality Engineering position will provide leadership and technical support to Quality & Regulatory Compliance (QRC) and Operations staff on all aspects of the biological manufacturing process controls at the Raritan manufacturing site. This position is located in Raritan, NJ The Responsibilities * Utilize key Quality Engineering (QE) principles, tools, and practices to develop and optimize systems and processes that are aligned with the overall business and the Quality Policy. * Quality representative for teams conducting investigations related to non-conformances and/or customer complaints. Escalate issues per established procedures. Apply CAPA process through completion and approval of non-conformances, RCI and CAPA. * Track and trend quality data for non-conformances, RCI, CAPA and Change Control. Prepare data and present at Quality Systems Management Reviews. * Demonstrate problem-solving skills. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Gathers and analyzes information skillfully. Develops alternative solutions: effectively analyzes technical data and proposals. * Provide quality engineering support to project teams in compliance with FDA, ISO and CMDR regulations and MTS/Ortho Quality System requirements. * Partner with manufacturing to implement process improvements and address quality events including non-conformance, product disposition, root cause investigation, and laboratory OOS. * Collaborate with business partners to implement effective corrective/preventative action. * Assure inspection readiness programs are effectively implemented within the organization. * Execute functions needed to support change control and document management. * Drive quality related decisions, with appropriate approval authority (both data-based and risk-assessment-based decisions). * Utilize multifaceted industry and process excellence standards on an expert level in daily quality operations, including good manufacturing practices (GMP), and international organization for standardization (ISO). The Individual * A minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality, Regulatory and/or Compliance in a highly regulated manufacturing environment (Diagnostics, Medical Device, Pharmaceutical, or Consumer);or equivalent combination of education and experience. * A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline or equivalent experience. * 10% Domestic Travel required * Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position #LI-LB1 #CB# For this position we will not sponsor applicants for work visas.
