We have a rare opportunity for a Quality Assurance Chief Inspector in Atlanta, GA.

Job Summary:

  • The Chief Inspector is responsible to the Quality Manager for the overall operation of the inspection department and delegated to oversee all return to service process.

  • Direct, plan and lay out the details of inspection standards, methods, and procedures used by the repair station in complying with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and Manufactures specifications and recommendations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for performing a variety of duties in supporting & implementing the Pratt & Whitney Engine Services Internal Quality Management System.

  • Ensure compliance to FAA regulations, ISO 9001:2008 and AS 9100 / AS9110 (as revised) requirements.

  • Provide oversight of the PWES inspection process.

  • Must be willing to travel and work extended hours.

  • FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program

  • This position is covered under the PWES FAA Anti-Drug and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program. The selected candidate will be required to complete a pre-employment FAA drug screen
  • Vision Program
  • This position is covered under the PWES Vision program, and the selected candidate will be a participant in this program.

Basic Qualifications:

  • AA/AS Degree (or other 2 year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of prior inspection experience complying with Federal Aviation Regulations or in lieu of no degree a minimum of 8 years of prior inspection experience complying with Federal Aviation Regulations

  • Valid A&P License

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • In-depth working knowledge with the Federal Aviation Administration regulations

  • Working Knowledge of technical Documentation/ standards

  • Familiar with engine assembly and disassembly process

  • Familiar with inspection and measurement equipment

  • Familiar with component repair process

  • Experience with investigation (DIVE) Process and other continuous improvement processes/ tools

  • Previous experience as a Chief Inspector or Quality Manager

  • Experience with regulatory certification

  • 2 years' experience with return to service functions

  • Certificated in ACE, CORE or 6Sigma

  • Internal/ External Auditor experience/ Experience as a Lead Auditor

  • Training / working knowledge of AS9110

Additional information:

Pratt & Whitney Atlanta, GA is a FAA regulated facility and as such under the U.S. Departments of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with FAA Guidelines. Candidate will be subject to drug and alcohol testing as a pre-employment contingency and also subject to ongoing random testing as an employee per FAA's regulation 14 CFR part 120, as well as 49 CFR part 40.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

Candidates will learn more about role type and current site status throughout the recruiting process. For onsite and hybrid roles, commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
