The Quality Assurance Chemist will plan, control and execute the delivery of the daily blend requirements for production through the scheduling, ordering, and manufacturing of full goods from concentrate with adherence to the quality specification requirements. Order and maintain concentrate, sugar, and other ingredient materials, as required. Maintain blending and product transfer equipment sanitation requirements to ensure system-wide conformance to quality and sanitation standards.

Accountabilities:

  • Batch beverage blends, coordinate the set-up of flavors for production runs, and physically connect/operate required hoses, agitators, and valves for each production run

  • Responsible for conducting qualitative and quantitative testing of beverage samples and finished goods throughout the entire production process.

  • Conduct quality inspection and quality audits and isolate product that does not meet standards.

  • Maintain highest possible housekeeping standards to prevent microbial contamination.

  • Check and maintain the calibration of lab equipment

  • Set-Up and start a CIP for PMC Totes, Hoses, Rapid Mixer, production lines, and solution/HFCS tanks as needed per sanitation requirements

  • Be able to troubleshoot basic problems related to test results and/or product flow

  • Perform administrative tasks such as daily shift reports, concentrate usage and inventory, quality testing results, and receiving raw materials in SAP.

  • Act as a lead for the quality department and be able to operate, test, and troubleshoot an entire shift independently.

Qualifications:

  • Strong analytical skills.

  • Ability to read, write, and keep records.

  • Food/beverage industry experience a plus.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy

  • Good computer skills including literacy with Excel and Word.

  • Bachelor's degree in science or related field highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with lab safety and handling of hazardous materials.

  • 1 - 3 years prior production/manufacturing experience OR 2+ years' relevant lab technician experience.
