Position Summary: The Quality Assurance Auditor will audit the home building facilities to ensure compliance with federal and state construction standards and regulations. Act as an objective source of independent advice to ensure validity, legality and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations to the Energy Star program as well as perform and control the full audit cycle. Maintain and update the Energy Star Compliance manual and communicate it to the facilities if there are any changes to the manual. Assist with training team members to build homes and document files as per the code requirements. Manage, Analyze and Report audit findings to the upper management. Apply standard engineering techniques to assigned tasks and ensure that specific goals are met. Must be willing to travel.

Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Develop internal audit scope, plans and schedule

  • Audit the home building production processes for compliance to all respective codes, Gateway, Energy Star and 45L program requirements.

  • Acquire, analyze and evaluate documentation from the Home Building Facilities to ensure they meet the requirements of program.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills needed to present reports that reflect the audit's results and document the process

  • Identify opportunities in the process and share risk aversion methods

  • Document process and prepare audit findings memorandum

  • Conduct follow up audits if required

  • Collaborate with Quality managers to develop and implement control management techniques.

  • Work closely with the third-party inspection agencies (IPIA), Energy Star, 45L program developers, Federal and State regulators to ensure conformance to applicable building codes and regulations.

  • Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.

  • Work closely with material suppliers to evaluate and ensure all products going into the home meet applicable codes and requirements.

  • Participate in the prototype of new materials and new model homes.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • Minimum of two years of experience as an Internal Auditor

  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA), Certification preferred or willing to be certified

  • Advanced computer skills in MS Office

  • Must be willing to travel

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as telephone, calculator, copy machine, computer printer, etc.

  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.

  • Constantly works in an indoor, temperature-controlled, sealed-window office environment.

  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing.
