The shift floor QA assistant is the QA presenting and directing all quality control activities within the RTE area. The Assistant will lead, drive and maintain HACCP, SSOP and product specifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence, and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.

  • Implement HACCP programs and maintain HACCP records for all products received, processed, and packed/repacked at this facility.

  • Implement GMP and SSOP in meeting regulatory requirements and customer's expectations.

  • Communicate with operations and sales teams in meeting quality standards and labeling requirements.

  • Communicate daily QC report to the management team and provide recommendations for improvement.

  • Maintain HACCP, sanitation, and labeling standards in meeting USDC QMP.

  • Maintain a positive attitude and constantly look for opportunities for improvement.

  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

A. Education and Experience


  • High School Diploma or GED


  • A minimum of three years related experience and/or training.

  • With Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Overview This is a fully remote position with the requirement to come into an office in Virginia Beach or Newport News at least one day per week. Training will be onsite at Virginia Beach, VA office. Responsible for the continuous monitoring the quality of mortgages originated by the Fulton Mortgage Company. Conducts quality assurance reviews of loans to ensure compliance with government requirements, federal and state laws and regulations, private investor requirements and company policies and procedures. Audit prefunding, closed and denied loan files in a timely manner, utilizing the Quality Control software system. Ensure loans conform to stated Fulton Mortgage Company policies and procedures and Federal Housing Authority,Veterans Administration,Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, Federal National Mortgage Association, Rural Housing Service,State Bond and other investor standards through loan review techniques; and evaluate, monitor and report findings on the overall quality of the loan origination. The independent evaluation of each file will be reviewed to validate and assess whether files are fully documented and meet all key credit and compliance risk management criteria. Hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 - 5:00 Responsibilities * Audit loans to determine if documents satisfy all necessary criteria. Validate all data used in the loan decision including all data passed to an automated underwriting system, Desktop Underwriter, Loan Prospector or Government Underwriting System to ensure accurate results. Evaluate debt to income and loan to value limitations in accordance with product guidelines to ensure loan meets investor and FMC requirements. Maintain a thorough knowledge of underwriting, investor guidelines, regulatory and compliance requirements and company policies and procedures as they relate to the residential mortgage lending area. Maintain thorough knowledge of the Quality Control software used to perform audits. * Re-verify and evaluate employment and income calculations including analysis of complex personal and corporate tax returns to determine adequacy of income. Re-verify and evaluate source and value of assets used in transaction. Ensure loan is underwritten in accordance with Ability to Repay and Qualified Mortgage requirements. Often requires in-depth analysis of complicated income calculations when borrower is self-employed, owns multiple businesses or investment properties. * Confirm all consumer compliance mortgage laws and regulations are met to protect the consumer by reviewing compliance related loan disclosures and other documents including Loan Estimate and Closing Disclosure to ensure all Know Before You Own, also known as TRID: TILA - RESPA Integrated Disclosure, requirements are met. * Review credit report for accurate disclosures of current debt and inquiries as well as red flags and discrepancies. On closed loans, order and review Quality Assurance credit report for undisclosed debts or derogatory credit. Ensure parties involved in the origination of the loan are not included on any of the industry or agency exclusionary lists. This includes fraud detection checks on borrowers and other parties associated with the transaction. Any potential fraud related issues found are to be reported to management and BSA immediately. Evaluate any red flags noted in the loan documentation. * Review appraisal or other property valuation data, review warnings from Collateral Underwriting system and ensure collateral risk is effectively managed and evaluated. Review and assess field review appraisals performed on 10 percent of loans. * Ensure bank collateral is secured by making certain insurance including Private Mortgage Insurance, Mortgage Insurance Protection, Hazard, Flood, inspections and other items required are sufficient and within compliance of bank policy and federal guidelines. Full understanding of Flood Requirements and Regulations for insurance and notification policies is essential. Qualifications Education High School Diploma or the equivalent. (Required) Experience 4 or more years Processing or underwriting or quality control with residential first mortgages. (Required) 4 or more years Working knowledge of lending, regulatory and compliance requirements including conventional and government loans. (Preferred) 2 or more years Desktop Underwriter and Loan Prospector. (Preferred) This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager.
